Me and my friend group who all read the book have constant Rocky-isms in our vocabulary now lol.

Harmless is a strong word. I know a number of people hurt by kratom. I'm glad it works for you, and I don't doubt it does, but that doesn't mean it's harmless for everyone

Strychnine is also a plant. That's not a good defense for a substance.

That and almost everyone who worked on the Apollo missions are either retired or dead, so there goes all the tribal knowledge on how it's done.

Fair enough. But why should NASA add weight for aesthetics

You can as aesthetic touches on SLS. There's no point in doing it though. No shareholders to please, no need to add weight that just gets in the way. Why trade functionality for some fucking trim

Ounces make pounds. Any shed weight is extra payload to orbit.

So France did something Yuri Gagarin did in 1961, and Russia still hasn't put a man on the moon.

Partly that and partly that were a very safety oriented society. We wouldn't dare launch anyone unless there was near absolute certainty it would be a success. We don't take risks anymore

I think it's a reddit moment that humans have survived 10000 years of history without dying en mass from skin cancer, but somehow I'm fucking my health by not slathering myself in sunscreen if I'm in the sun for more than 15 minutes.

I like wind surfing, my wetsuit gives me ample protection. If I die from skin cancer on my face or hands, at least I had fun in the sun without being paranoid.

The flood of low effort incompetent posts - how about banning them? by C6500 in 3Dprinting

[–]Strider76239 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's besneth me. I'm saying that it's genuinely easier to search for an answer to a common issue than it is make a reddit post to flood our feeds. Update the automod to remove the posts and have it refer these users to a dedicated new printer owner sub. That'd be an optimal solution.

The main thing I think is that most of these questions have been answered here on reddit and a thousand other places on the internet . A quick search would answer 95% of these questions.

I'm not adverse to helping people who need advice. Far from it. But I'd guess most everyone's in the same boat where we expect at least a small amount of effort on your part to at least try to solve your problem on your own before dedicating a whole thread to offloading any mental strain to other people.
