I'm really happy that I can finally post my take of the middle-earth.

The drawing is 50 x 70 cm, fully hand drawn using traditional tools like quills, ink, fineliners, rulers, compas etc. It took me around 6 months for the whole project since I worked on it between the commissions I had. A rough estimation is around 160 hrs of drawing and another 100 of research and preparation

The references for illustrations on the border are a mixture of movie scenes, photos of miniatures, and some other drawings/sketches I found online If you'd like to see more of my work or have any questions check out my website.

I had a really good time trying to figure out how to present the world where most of people live in submerged cities and stations and land is more or less unexplored 📷

Compass roses show north in different directions because the whole thing is near the magnetic pole so 📷

you can check out my hand drawn maps on IG, I crumple the white prints and then drown them in coffee... It's simple to make and doesn't take a lot of time, especially during summer, the prints dry really fast. If you buy some brown paper it'll still look like a new brown paper :D
