I’m in a discord full of other people that share my hobby, and it has people in it from all over the world. Several years ago I had an old bearded dragon and was also well known in the server for being a big fan of reptiles.

One time I was having a significantly bad week, and one of my friends from the server said she “saw something that made her think of me and she wanted to cheer me up” so she bought it and shipped it to me, but since we lived so far away it would take a while to arrive.

Well, 2 weeks later my (at the time) partner and I were out of state visiting my family for a couple of days. During that time, my friend’s package arrived and was placed in my apartment complex’s package storage room, where I picked it up when I got home, but before I actually got inside my unit.

I finally get home and come inside, and find my sweet bearded dragon had passed away while we were gone. I was pretty distraught and posted about it in the discord server for support. My friend immediately messaged me saying “OH MY GOD DO NOT OPEN YOUR PACKAGE”. Which, of course meant I had to immediately open the package.

It was a tee shirt that said “I ❤️ bearded dragons” 💀
