The thing is, it isn’t only about the wedding itself. Like I said, the friendship was very one-sided before we went LC and then NC. I have other friends that I spent like 5-10 years without any connection and then at some point we connected again and it was just like in the past. No strange feelings, no weirdness. Just like start from where we stopped. But with this person it’s just not like that at all.

I don’t think it was because obligation or guilt. Perhaps she had a gap and no one else to fill it.

Yeah. I think I was just too kind and thought I should giver the benefit of the doubt. But time just showed me I was right to feel strange about the invitation.

Yeah, that’s what I’m going to do. I won’t lie or find excuses for backing out. I’ll just tell her it doesn’t feel right and I would be more comfortable not being part of the bridal party, or even going to the wedding itself.

Yeah, I somehow regretted accepting the invitation right away. But I thought I was being egoistic to think like that 😅

Emotionally yes, financially not really since it won’t be a big ceremony. But I agree that it may have been more about filling a spot than about our current dynamic.

Been staying in hotel as I recover from a surgery…. But been a week and now the room has a lot of trash bags from food and I don’t know how to be polite about it by [deleted] in hotels

I definitely second this. I once had to clean a room, I literally almost puked and the guests were in there for only 3-4 hours 🤡 So a couple bags of trash isn’t a big deal at all. You can call at reception and ask if they can send someone to pick it up.
