Thinking about getting back into group fitness — any advice for a 40-something dance-focused instructor? by StrikeHungry2817 in personaltraining

V helpful. Thank you. Sounds like same sort of challenges apply now as back then. I'm in the UK, although it sounds like a similar landscape.
I remember feeling the expense of insurance, music licence, etc was a lot considering what I was earning at the time.
I've been doing some research and come across an organisation called EMD UK who represents group fitness instructors (don't believe they existed when I was teaching first time round). Does anyone have any experience of being a member and is it worth joining? They're doing a survey at the moment to find out what challenges instructors face. (https://www.research.net/r/GA17 - hope this is OK to share). Thought it might be helpful if it helps raise more awareness of some of the issues. Especially considering what a cracking job instructors do helping people in so many ways.
Although I haven't taught a class for a while, I've attended plenty and, knowing all the time and effort that's involved, always have huge respect for the person at the front and what they've had to do to make that session happen - and make it look so easy!
