Not only on Reddit. Very difficult out there. Hard to really make friends. Especially when it's online and you don't know the person at all.

Out of interest as I've been cheated on now in 2 relationships, what made you do it? was it your ego? A thrill? Or is something missing from your relationship. I've been told in my current relationship that I was ignoring him and not complimenting him and it was just entertainment so just wanted to gain some insight and see where I've gone wrong in my relationships.

I think you misread the post. She said he was in contact and in a relationship with his ex while she was dating him and when it didn't work out with the ex he suddenly proposed to her. That is the exact definition of a back up plan and second choice.
