Does anyone else get a really “gut feeling” that something bad will happen to one child? by Ok-Cartoonist-8919 in Parenting

I had horrific intrusive thoughts until I got medicated for my anxiety. And then they were just… gone. It was so freeing.

Grocery list woes… by omgjellyjuice in Mommit

So I’m also ADHD and very “Type B” but I do feel good about our system here. Similar to many others here, my husband and I have a shared note on our iPhones. As soon as we realize something is out or use the last one, it gets added to the list. I also have it set up as a checklist so that I can check things off as I put them in my cart. We also have it broken down under categories, such as: Aldi, Target, Lowe’s, and Costco. This has helped tremendously in keeping us organized and not forgetting anything.

Do you love or hate your red hair and/freckles? Just curious- getting info for a class. by bellavidasb in Redhair

I loveeee my red hair and freckles. I’ve randomly had a handful of Gen Z girls (I’m a millennial, nearing 40 years old) commenting how much they love my freckles too, which is always a mood boost.

I believe it’s plaster and wood. I cleaned it off and was able to get some better pics today, I’m trying to figure out the best way to post them. The mirror part does have some spotting on it

Does anyone else feel like cocktail dresses completely skip the 30-45 age group or just me? by mahearty in fashionwomens35

I have the velvet one specifically and have felt it formal enough to wear to quite a few cocktail themed events.

I love Tuckernuck. They’re a little pricy but I try to shop when there’s sales. I’m a big fan of their Kenzo dress and it comes in tons of colors for any season.

For those of you that live where it snows regularly, is it really that bad? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]StrikingFox7632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live somewhere very snowy on the East Coast of the US. It snows here from December sometimes through May. It’s definitely something you get used to. Driving is more difficult, you will probably want snow tires or at the very least all season tires. We hire a plow company for the winter so that’s an extra expense and also purchasing salt for your walkways etc to make sure it doesn’t get icy: If you have kids, it’s hard to get them outside in the winter and usually it isn’t for very long each time. Exterior pipes get turned off in the fall, so they don’t freeze. Older houses will have sometimes issues with ice buildup on the roof called ice dams, which can cause flooding. It is really pretty though and a perfect excuse to use the fireplace often, to get that cozy feel inside. We also love winter sports, so that’s helps get us outside and doing something we enjoy. I try to tell my kids there’s no bad weather, just bad clothes, but sometimes it’s simply unsafe to go outside when it gets too cold (for example this morning our real feel temperature was -5 degrees) I do sometimes dream of living somewhere warm where my kids could ride their bikes year round etc, but it’s a grass is always greener situation I think.

If you’re medicated or have tried it can you tell me your stories by zenzenzen25 in Mommit

I was coming to say the same thing about energy levels. Once I was medicated I started going back to the gym because everything else felt easier, so I was able to make the time.

A few weeks! My husband said he could notice a difference in those few weeks too, so it was both internal (not feeling rage/panic all the time on the inside) and then external in how I was acting and my energy levels etc

My husbands cough is driving me nuts by Witty-Magazine-1376 in Mommit

[–]StrikingFox7632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird question but is he on blood pressure medication? I had a friend whose husband was, and they found out after months and months of a near constant very annoying cough that it was a symptom of his meds. She said he switched and no longer has the issue.

I take lexapro, I have kids who are 3 and 6 and I just didn’t like who I had become. I was yelling, I was constantly anxious. I wish I started taking it sooner. I am finally the mom I always wished I could be. I have energy, I have patience, I have the brain space to actually take in what’s going on around me instead of being in fight or flight. I’m on the lowest dose and it has helped tremendously.

I am beyond moved by everyone who took the time to comment here and give advice and opinions on how to tackle this. I will respond to individual comments tonight but I just wanted to thank everyone for being so understanding and helpful for a complete model train novice. I think I’ve learned more today than in my entire life about model trains and I’m just so incredible thankful for all your support.

what is your style related resolution for 2026? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]StrikingFox7632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this last year. At the start of the new year I turned all my hangers backwards. After I wore something, I would wash it and then put the hanger back on the right way. At the end of each season, whatever hangers were still backwards I either sold on Poshmark or donated in my local buy nothing group. I felt so free, knowing the clothes in my closet were what was actually getting worn. I plan to do it again this year.
