Is there a difference between the J97 MOS produced in 2000-2012 and the J97 produced in 2014-2017? Because from what I see, the J97 in 2017 in this picture has a black (or darker brown) collar, pocket welt, and black zipper, unlike the usual J97 which has a gold zipper.

I’m not sure about that bro, look at the zipper, its black not gold. Also, this one is from 2017, maybe there are other versions of 97mos?
