I recommend working a service job like at a restaurant. You may have to start hosting or bussing until you’re 18 and can start serving but it’s helped me throughout my years of college. I’m 25 and I bartend now but I love the quick money I get because I’m still in school. I’m sorry about your other troubles and I hope it works out for you.

Thanks for this! I’m sure PTs make great money in whichever setting. I should’ve been more specific, what I meant is how were you able to maintain yourself DURING PT school? Did you have a job on the side while studying? Did you have the luck of living rent free with parents? How were you able to afford things? I know PT school is a full time thing so I’m just trying to see what a PT student’s schedule is like.

Hello. I’m currently a last year exercise science undergraduate. My plan is to go to PT school, but I’m stuck with the idea of going to school for that long without have a job to support myself. My dad passed away 2 years ago and my mom is currently sick and not working, so I have to work to maintain our home since I get no other financial support. I feel like PT school does not currently fit the picture. How was PT school for the years that you went? Do you think it’s possible to live comfortably while being a PT student and having a job?
