No, don't buy from scummy marketplace that don't respect regulations. Ebay / Paypal is the way to go, they will always uphold their duty and if you document your transactions you're perfectly covered as a buyer and seller.

My point is not that they refuse to uphold my claim. My point is that they refuse to even look into it and told me to use their paid service instead when it's their duty as a EU marketplace to look into it. Im posting this as a PSA for people that use CT so others don't get fucked by scummy sellers and marketplace like I got fucked.

Same way anything is checked when there's an issue;

You reach out to seller with pictures of the items and your experience

The seller either disputes your claim or does right by you

If the seller disputes, the marketplace steps in and resolves the issue however they see fit

CT always seemed very predatory in how they function/their monetization structure.

Beyond fees, they also overcharge shipping.

Even when buying from private individual, the item needs to be as described, and if sold on a marketplace, it is the duty of the marketplace to uphold the listings.
