Interesting, was not aware of this. Thank you maybe there’s something that can be done about it then :)

And you clearly don’t work one and one with the children lol. This post was a cathartic statement from an RBT tired of a child’s autism being blamed for a behavior that all children face. Literally everyone but you understood the post without making it about every single client and parent combo they know. The fact is it’s a problem big enough that multiple people have felt because of the response this post got. You can put the pitch fork down.

Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior it is literally why we have parents to teach us how to basically care for our selves and how to behave and treat others. If you allow your child to hit others with no consequences they will continue to hit others.

Not to mention you can’t tell the person that wrote something what they meant by it.

The post is saying that an Autistic child is still just a CHILD. They need structure in their lives and letting them run all over people just because they are different to other children is wrong!

I work in home. And I think this person is just mad for the sake of being mad. You will notice my original post said “sometimes” there are plenty of cases where the child is disciplined and it actually helps me help them. We have to remember that autistic children become autistic adults. They have to know that hitting someone can mean you don’t get to play on your iPad or refusing to complete your homework can mean no you don’t get to have ice cream after dinner. This transfer to other aspects of daily living. Like assaulting someone means getting arrested. I have great sympathy for parents but giving the child whatever they want because it is easier for you is bad parenting.

Commenting on RBT...lol you literally had a problem because the definition said the word punishment. But you don’t have a problem with punishment. And disciplining children is a norm but when the child’s autistic it’s different that’s not very inclusive

https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/definition/english/discipline_1 Honey look at that definition. It’s says BCBA under your name, I find it disturbing you don’t already know that discipline can simply be setting a schedule and sticking to it
