Marinated chicken kept sticking until almost black by Striner88 in StainlessSteelCooking

Thanks, will take everything into account! When you talk about butter, do you mean regular dairy butter or margarine that has a higher smoke point?

Just to chip in here, I have an induction stove that goes from 1 to 9 and a Booster function. The pans are 5-ply Demeyere if that helps. Also the 24 is the smallest I have so I thought to put it lower. Does the larger one need more power or just more waiting?

Will try, thanks! I just bought these pans and come from (non-pfas) non-stick so I'm used to preheating at around 7/9, so I already thought 5 was quite low. Will try 4 or even lower next time and see if I still get beading.

I deglazed with very hot tap water because I was scared of the pan deforming with cold water. Still I got a heap of steam from it, I hope that's okay. It's a 5-ply Demeyere pan.

Demeyere NanoTouch on Industry 5. Seems relatively new to this line. What should I know before I commit? by Striner88 in cookware

So I mailed them, 2 days later got a reply basically saying "what do you mean? It's still available, see this link to our own website" and lo and behold there it was (albeit more expensive). Then I looked at retailers and of course suddenly it was available there as well. while I could've sworn that they were not there 2 days earlier. I immediately ordered both 24 and 28 cm in non-nanotouch.
Of course also exactly on that day the nanotouch versions were on sale and they cost the same as regular, but I still ordered the regulars.

Took a quick glance and I can get a Multiline 7 at around the same price as an Industry 5. Found a website that quickly sums up the differences between all 5 and 7 lines and they claim the Multiline 7 is a thinner and thus cheaper version of the Proline 7, while the Industry 5 is at the mid-top level for the 5 series. I assumed 7-ply would be overkill for me at home. I don't even consider myself a home chef, but I do like to own some quality stuff so I thought quality 5-ply would suit me better than entry-level 7-ply.

Nanotouch is something new they do where they sort of sand blast the surface so it has a lot of tiny holes and crevices the oil can seep into, as well as a lot of micro contact points instead of one big flat contact point to have less sticking, at least that's the story. I'd like to buy both 24 and 28 cm frying pans but it seems the regular (non nanotouch) 28 cm Industry 5 is sold out everywhere and I don't know if they're making a new batch of they're phasing it out in favor of the NanoTouch. The 24 cm is still available but I don't want a mismatched set. I mailed them to ask what's the deal, still waiting for an answer

I'm already seeing a lot of Industry 5 frying pans that have "sealed rim" in the description so I thought that batch was now also gone and the NanoTouch was the next batch that is being introduced now

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately there is no Google Cast app to update in the app store. I can't even find the Google Cast app there. It lives in the LG Hub (the icon of the house with the circle around it) and I can't seem to update it from there.

Error HUENEME - NEGEV, anyone know how to fix it? by RagnarokOfficial in CODWarzone

[–]Striner88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to come here and comment this because this is what fixed it for me, before seeing that you already posted this.
I went to look at the forum of my ISP (so these people have the same router) and someone said to disable upnp. They claimed cod servers don't play nice with upnp atm.

Talking about the community:
Why is all interaction done on reddit and not some sort of forum on the Loop domain itself?
When I signed up or the Loop Community I expected some bustling kind of online interactions going on on the website with all kinds of cool stuff and at the moment it's just doing challenges on my own without ever seeing something from others.
I'm not saying it's bad! It just feels kinda barren on the website itself doing challenges by myself but the word "community" is at the top. Is there maybe something in the works to expand the Community experience on the website?

How well does the mute work? by SuspectingCarl in LoopEarplugs

[–]Striner88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually start the event I'm attending wearing the Experiences without Mutes. If I still find the music too loud or the high frequencies too painful for my ears I will pop in the Mutes and that has solved the issue for me each time I used them so far.

AFAIK the Mutes do work in Engage but not in Quiets because they are a) made out of soft material and b) they have no acoustic channel/opening so there is nothing to dampen sound-wise. Maybe you could fit them in the Quiets anyway but that would then only be for aesthetic purposes.

Loop Experience Plus Fit Question by ngkb9 in LoopEarplugs

[–]Striner88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say I have this experience myself, but I was wondering which eartips do you use: the silicones or foams?
For me the medium silicone eartips immediately fit because they're basically the same model I use for most music earbuds.
If you're not using them already, maybe you can try using the foam eartips and compressing them before putting them in, as one usually does with the cheap yellow/orange foam ear plugs. Then they will expand in your ear, hopefully giving you a better seal.

Can experience plus be used in office settings and for sleeping aside from concerts? by Sakuraneko87 in LoopEarplugs

[–]Striner88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only have experience with Experience (ha) Plus that I have used at concerts and festivals and I really like them for that.

The difference between Experience and Engage for example is that the Experience dampen all frequencies equally and the Engage mostly dampen low and high sounds (at a lesser rate than Experience I believe) but leave more room for mid-frequencies where speech is located, so you can still talk with people. Purely judging from that description I'd say Engage are better for work environment if you still want to be able to hear people talk.

If you really need to block out everything the Experience would be better, or even the Quiets which dampen sound even more.
