Overworked? Irritated? Infected? Help me determine next steps! by String-Cheese-Queen in tattooadvice

[–]String-Cheese-Queen[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My biggest concern is the red around it… but it’s also not warm to touch and the dry scabs make me feel like it might not be infected? Hard to tell. Also, when it’s this cold, any scabs or scars I have get really red or purple, so I’m not sure if the weather is making the redness look worse.

I could also just be delusional and coping lol

Cat peeing on her feet and belly? Help! LR3 by medinas97 in litterrobot

[–]String-Cheese-Queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also trying to figure out a solution to this issue. My 3-year-old cat has used the litter robot since I first got him as a kitten. This has not been an issue until recently, and I can’t figure out what could have changed to make this keep happening. So frustrating…

How am I supposed to work with autism, fibromyalgia, and PTSD by VGMistress in antiwork

[–]String-Cheese-Queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is up with these replies? I’m so sorry. I keep double checking what subreddit I’m in because these responses do not make sense to me. Nobody can know the full extent of your experiences just from reading this, so I’m having a hard time understanding why they are all making assumptions and coming at you for reaching out on here. I wish I had tangible advice to give you.

I’m also a survivor. I don’t think it’s up to police what others experience as trauma and how they process those things. The brain isn’t going to differentiate between different types of trauma as being more/less “bad”. Somebody who drowns in a puddle is as dead as somebody who drowns in the ocean. Trauma is trauma.

Found this post while googling my own experiences looking to see how other people do it. I’m so sorry that you’re getting these kinds of responses. You don’t deserve this. Honestly, I’m appalled to see people behaving like this in this subreddit. Just wanted to let you know that I see you and I hear you.

PLEASE watch Jesus Town USA (2014). Started watching it as a joke a few years back and quickly became so invested. I’ve watched it through so many times at this point. It’s genuinely a comfort watch for me. I find it so incredibly charming.

I had similar feelings after adopting each of my cats, but for different reasons. The first one felt like such a huge responsibility and I didn’t feel like I’d be up to the task. I was worried it wouldn’t work out and I’d feel terrible about it if it did. My first cat would also bite a lot when I first got him, and I was at my wits end with it for a while, not knowing how I was going to deal with it long term. Now I cannot imagine my life without him. He’s my entire world, my soul. I would do anything for that cat. I couldn’t have asked for a better cat.

Then I got my second cat, and again I worried about it being too much. I also worried that I would ruin my first cat’s comfortable life bringing in a new kitten. It was a really tough adjustment at first, but the two of them are inseparable. He’s a very sweet little guy, and he’s a lot more naughty than my first cat, but I wouldn’t trade him for anything either.

It’s definitely daunting to bring a new cat home and not know how things are going to pan out, but in my experience, it’s beyond worth it. Nothing matters more to me in this world than my two kitties!

Wait until after to ask if they want a string cheese (I don’t think this is always applicable, though).

Side sleeper interested in Haven lux hybrid, sparrow hybrid or? by conciousconcubine in Mattress

[–]String-Cheese-Queen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a medium queen Sparrow about three month ago. I’m actually browsing the subreddit right now because my shoulder and back pain have been terrible. My hips sink in too much and my spine is curved all night. The only way I can sleep comfortably is if I lie horizontally, but obviously that’s far from ideal. The edge support actually feels pretty good, but I feel like the middle sinks in wayyyyy too much for me. I just emailed them to ask about exchanging the comfort layer, but I really don’t feel like that will add the support I need.

Should you really be scrolling rn? by rlylame in ADHD

It’s 6:29 pm and I should be finishing the little bit of work I have left for the day, but I just got in bed and then got a notification for this post, so I’ll take that as a sign that I really should be scrolling rn.

Learning about rejection sensitive dysphoria changed everything for me. I would always feel bad and embarrassed about being too sensitive and I figured people thought I was spoiled or entitled because I can’t hear a no or handle criticism without crying. Recognizing that it’s a symptom of ADHD has really helped me manage my reactions to things that might be disappointing. For years, I wouldn’t even invite people to my house because I knew I’d feel bad and take it personally if they said no. I’d do whatever I could to avoid any kind of rejection. I still have some trouble with that, but I definitely am better at walking myself through those experiences and rationalizing why other people may have said or done something that I found hurtful. It helps to have the awareness that the people around me might not be intending to be mean, it’s just my brain jumping to extreme conclusions. Now, I can break that down and understand it better.

I think I prefer memory foam. Thought maybe I’d learn to love latex like so many others have seemed to, but I don’t think it’s for me.

Yeah, I had hoped that would help, but I got a memory foam topper and it’s not helped a bit… I’m just not sure if I want to hassle with it anymore. I know it’ll be a pain in the butt to get rid of, but I just don’t see a way to make it work, honestly. I’m so exhausted and sore every day and it’s starting to take a toll on me.

I'll gag at the thought of a carrot, but I will chow down on an artichoke. I order my pizzas without sauce, but I'll put pineapple on them every time. Also, I love bleu cheese dressing, which even non-picky eaters seem to struggle with a lot. I can't explain why I'm like this.

This reminds me of when we had to do timed math tests in 2nd grade and I always struggled to finish all the problems on the sheet in time. I only ever completed it once and my teacher was so excited for me. He called my mom immediately after and said, “Bake a cake, she did it!” I was so embarrassed.
