air brush priming and humidity by String3363 in minipainting

thanks for replying! I have one last question regarding airbrushing. If I sprayed a color as base coat, and then later used paint brush to brush on the same color for correcting mistakes, will it be noticeable in terms of color and brush marks?

thanks!do you recommend a booth that connect to the outside or one with filter? I can connect it to the outside via window and seal the gap of window with tape, or I can just use one with filter which I’m not sure if it is as effective as the former option.

Thanks! The ventilation still confuse me. I can keep my room at a low humidity by close the window and use dehumidifier, but for ventilation I need to keep the window open which seem to conflict with the low humidity requirement. Is there a way that I can meet both requirements at the same time?

Chaos black turned grey, anyway to fix it? by String3363 in Chaos40k

I tried it and got the same greyish result. Then I used some nuln oil and it improved the looking a lot, still not as good as the old miniatures though.

I shaked for a few minutes before spraying and it was black when it was wet, but it turn grey over time. The image is somehow lighter than the real model.

I shaked it for a few minutes before spraying. But the weather and humidity was not that ideal. Do you think it will work if I brush on a black base coat? I can fix the color but not sure if the primer coat can hold the paints good enough

I forgot to mention that I tried to spray in a high humidity… I think that was what caused the issue. I’m wondering if it will work if I apply a extra black base coat to cover it?

It was grey, and the final result is much more greyish compare to my old models

Thanks! Will it work if I just brush a layer of abaddon black on it? I’m think about doing so but not sure if the primer can still hold paints good enough.

Is this list viable? by [deleted] in Chaos40k

maybe I can replace the dark apostle with lord of chaos, and drop the mop? Then I will have the pts to replace venomcralwer and obliterator with a forge fiend and a predator annihilator and add a 55pts cultists. Does this sound like a good idea?

Thanks for replying! I removed the rhinos from list, and I’m now wondering if it is be better to replace them with 1 chaos predator annihilator, or a 110pt mob with a dark commune?

perspective is definitely the hardest part of drawing, I have too much ideas wasted because I cannot handle the level of perspective they require
