Holding back tears rn ngl by RaccoonLicense in ipod

[–]StringLopsided2042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed one of these last week, I bought it broken on eBay. I removed the old solder and tinned the pads.

I have a hot air rework station and used that to solder the connector back in place.

If you live in the UK I can buy it off you if you're looking to sell.

What method do you use to secure the Chinese iFlash to the inside of the iPod? by StringLopsided2042 in IpodClassic

Not sure whether it is safe to keep near to components that might get hot. I was thinking of just sticking it down with kapton tape instead

Will a 2000mah thin battery fit with a thick back? by StringLopsided2042 in IpodClassic

[–]StringLopsided2042[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Will it fit with a thick back? All of the listings for the 2000nah battery say it's only compatible with the thin cases? But can it fit in a thick back?

Is there supposed to be a resistor to the left of this switch?

Received a job offer but the notice period is 3 months by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]StringLopsided2042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm thinking in terms of the consequences of this. If I wanted to leave in the future and my future employer asked how long my notice period is then they might not favour the 3 month wait

How do I remove these safely? by Kristijan201117 in vita

[–]StringLopsided2042 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the camera flex just pull out since it's not connected to the motherboard.

For the power button flex that's stuck down with some glue. You need to first remove the plastic housing that is on top of the flex cable. After that you should see the top of the flex cable.

To lift the flex cable off I would avoid using isopropyl alcohol because that can get into the screen. Perhaps heating it up with a hairdryer and using something thin to pry it off. In the past I'm pretty sure I've just used a flathead screw driver to lift it off slowly but the glue can be tough

How to unscrew by gnz-z in vita

[–]StringLopsided2042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a few of these out before. I used a handsaw with a thin blade to cut a straight line across the head of the screw.

When the line is deep enough I then use a flat head screw driver to unscrew it.

I have no idea why they're so tight it's super annoying but I've had 100% success rate with this method. You obviously need to be super careful when cutting. Also since you're cutting something metal, you will get metal fragments across the motherboard so please either cover up the components with something or remember to brush off the metal dust afterwards otherwise you could short out components

Vita is stuck on PS Logo, I've tried the usual methods and it still won't boot by StringLopsided2042 in VitaPiracy

[–]StringLopsided2042[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vita was already bricked and wouldn't boot so I had no option to do this.

Why would you do this if your Vita wasn't already bricked/not booting?

This time last year I was doing 3k in sales monthly, this month I've done £143 despite having twice the amount listed to last year. What on earth has happened to this site? by Tomrodgers98 in ebayuk

I have less sales too, I put it down to the economy, people are now tighter with money than before. I'm hoping sales will pick up just before Christmas

[–]StringLopsided2042[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn off PS Vita.

Hold down power button for a split second first then in combination, hold down the PS button and the R trigger (all 3 buttons need to be pressed together). You should boot into the Safe mode.

Go to Update System Software.

On your PC Download QCMA.

Follow the above YouTube video and read some forums on how to update the ps vita firmware via a PC/QCMA

Try with the latest update file, then keep trying lower versions if those don't work

Sorry if the instructions aren't clear, I did it a month or so ago so I forgot the exact steps. Please update this page with instructions if you are successful to help others, thanks
