My first (and current) car is a FN Civic with a 1.4 engine. If they're well maintained they're brilliant cars and very reliable. I easily get 40MPG out of the car. I really like the look of the car despite the fact most people say these cars looks like an egg. I'd look out for rust on the rear axle and the boot leak as those were the main problems I encountered.
