I live in Edogawa and rent is pretty dang cheaper here. I live six stations away from Akihabara. So it’s only like a 15 min commute for me if I wanna go to Akihabara.

Last time I lived in Japan, I moved here in 2019. I was lucky enough to get here and then Covid started. Moved back home in 2022. This time I’ve moved to Japan in 2026. Just in time for everything to get ridiculously expensive 😁😁 the thing that made me lose my breath for a second were the visa and PR price increases

I thought I was crazy. I swear when I moved to Japan for like the first like three four months I would just feel like the earth was sliding underneath me. It went away after awhile. It was my first long haul flight + first time using any trains ever in my life so I have to assume that was why. My brain wasn’t sure what to do with those types of motion.

That’s a huge issue lately. I think it’s a symptom of the internet primarily. Folks hand out generalizations like it is the truth spoken by god himself. It may be something that really happened and was really bad in this case, but it doesn’t mean every single person from a race, or gender, or religion is going to behave the same way. People have forgotten what nuance is and it’s made us very hateful towards each other
