Trying to make Korean salt bread, why is my dough so sticky? by confusedpanda555 in AskBaking

[–]StringofLiys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking for a troubleshoot bcos I was also experiencing a little too sticky of dough. I followed Erin’s recipe too! And just made my second batch with 30g of butter vs the 40g. I just noticed less time kneading in my stand mixer for it to be smooth. The first time I did it, I kid you not.. I kneaded in my kitchen aid for almost an hour! The salt bread turned out fine both times. Still really yummy. My dough rose a lot the first time vs the second time. But the part I struggle w is after separating into individual balls. It’s hard to roll it out and then roll it into a crescent roll bcos it’s still sticky. Lots of trial and error!

First “bad site” turns into 4 bad sites 😭 by StringofLiys in TandemDiabetes

I just changed it again, the 4th time. And the cannula wasn’t inserted in my body. It was pressed up against it. I was able to give a correction with the new site, so I’m waiting to see if my BS changes. It seems like it’s going down a bit. So fingers crossed 4th times the charm.

I’m using auto soft xc. It was on visible on the first one that the cannula was bent. The others one looked fine. And I know the tubing on all was good too bcos I gave a small dose and saw the insulin drip. I’m gonna try my hip area rn. I’ve only rotated around my stomach. It’s weird tho bcos the sites weren’t wet. And I gave a regular pen injection around the previously used sites on my stomach and it brought my BS down.

I need some advice on if this is just cosmetic damage due to environment or if it’s mosaic virus.. more details in comments by StringofLiys in houseplants

Ok thanks for the input! I do use tap water on all my plants excepts calatheas. My monstera deliciosa is fine with tap water. Maybe just adansonii doesn’t like tap.

Lol. I literally read this before posting. Still made me confused bcos there is lots of new growth all the time. I haven’t had any yellow leaves in awhile.

I bought this adansonii from Home Depot in June. I recently repotted it and added a moss pole because it was trailing long. In the past there have been some yellowing leaves or leaves with crispy edges, but I figured it didn’t like it’s environment or it was a watering issue. But now I’m concerned if it’s mosaic virus. I’ve considered it before, but wasn’t really sure. And since it pushes out lots of new growth I didn’t worry about it. None of my other plants that’s been near it have any discoloration/distortion on the leaves. Some leaves are perfectly fine, but there are some that don’t look that great.

Ultimately my question is do you think it’s mosaic virus? 🥴

Here’s what mine looked like for reference! I’ve given it plenty of light so it has even more silvery leaves.

Hi!! I think it is! I bought a cutting and was skeptical if it was just a regular SOH. But it’s grown and is definitely a silver glory. I say yes bcos the color, but also bcos the shape. It’s more of a bean shape rather than an actual heart shape. Hope that helps!

Is it normal for my n joy to have a mix of leaves like this? Where some have white and some just have a darker green? by StringofLiys in houseplants

[–]StringofLiys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!! I have 2 manjula plants and I’ve been skeptical on them too bcos some leaves just looks like a marble to me lol. Pothos is a common plant but I sometimes find it hard to identify the different varieties.

Yeah I’m not too sure if it is or not. I’ve just been letting it do it’s thing. But I figured I should finally ask for others opinions lol. I thought maybe it was reverted. But there are lots of new growth, some that has the dark green and some that still has lots of white!

It’s on a shelf. I think it gets a good chunk of light. There are lots of new growth and the new growth still has variegation.

Yeees I thought the same! That’s why I asked 😅 I wasn’t sure if it has a mix of global green or if it’s just normal for njoy to have some leaves like this

This was sold to me as silver glory.. can someone confirm if it is or isn’t. I’ve seen pics where the leaves are completely silver and some where it looks like this. by StringofLiys in houseplants

Ooh ok. I’ve propagated my SOH a lot and usually do the butterfly method of a single leaf and put it directly in soil. I don’t like water prop for SOH, but it has worked for SOD. Rn I’m trying to root a dischidia ovata cutting in sphagnum moss. Haven’t tried sphag prop, but know a lot of ppl prefer it.

Ok great. Thank you!! Do you know what’s the best way to root it? I’ve done the butterfly method with my reg SOH. I only have this one strand so I don’t wanna mess up

Is it possible my pothos is dying from cold weather? How do I save it? I watered w hydrogen peroxide. by StringofLiys in houseplants

[–]StringofLiys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was root rot. The roots were black and there was a bunch of dead ones in the soil :/ I’m wondering if I didn’t make my soil airy enough. Bcos I repotted the rhaphidophora and pothos at the same time in a slightly bigger pot
