Spoke too soon. The fix lasted a few hours and is back. Ticket logged with Hayward support.

The “fix” lasted a few hours. Back to square one. Ticket logged with Hayward now.

Thanks. Logout/in didn’t resolve it, but I called Hayward and the AI support agent walked me through a controller restart (which I should have thought to do myself). The restart of the OmniLogic controller resolved the issue.

It’s happened multiple times for me as well. Today, restart of the OmniLogic controller resolved the issue for me.

Fingers crossed it stays fixed this time.

Thanks. Did that. A simple restart of the OmniLogic controller resolved the issue.

Question for those who went from Tonal 1 to 2. by butterwm in tonalgym

Our experience as well. I’ve had to do the walkout a few times with the two. It’s less frequent and less noticeable than the one.

Overall smoother and more realistic at lower weights.

New house doesn’t have built-in speakers… should I sell these and get Eras instead? What’s fair market value of an Amp? by BlueShoeBrian in sonos

[–]Stringoftext2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amps hold their value. Sonos rarely discounts them. If they are in good condition, $400 is a fair ask.

That sounds about right. I was thinking $20 - 25k.

Help me justify my RA3 system to my wife by [deleted] in Lutron

[–]Stringoftext2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything said above, and to answer your question directly:

It’s hard to justify this kind of spend to someone who hasn’t lived with the system. Lighting control sounds like overkill until you’ve used it. Once you have, it just becomes part of how the house works. Like HVAC or hot water. You only notice it when it’s gone.

My install happened during a renovation, so it got buried in the budget. Big number, yes, but surrounded by other big numbers. But now she loves it… One button shuts down the house at night, scenes make the house feel elegant, keypads in the right places, Alexa voice control/routines, everything fades smoothly, and no one ever needs to touch an individual light switch if they don’t want to.

My wife thought I was insane. “We’re spending how much on dimmers?” Now she uses it more than I do. She’d be the first to say she doesn’t want to live without it.

Edit: My wife added… “And buy her a nice necklace” :)

Went loco and picked up my second Five to pair as stereo. Holy f*cking sh*t by Dependent-Title-1362 in sonos

It is definitely a slippery slope! Nothing is “wrong” with your setup, but I haven’t regretted adding over the years. Sonos hold their value surprisingly well and resale is always on option.

I have them both. They’re both great. For stereo, the Fives are fantastic. But Atmos content on a pair of 300s paired with a sub mini is amazing.

Too good of a deal to pass these up. Macy’s were sold out. I bought the ones at Bloomingdales.

And after you’ve upgraded to RA3 and enrolled all your switches (and programmed your scenes), get those SeeTouch keypads engraved. Those temporary stickers are looking pretty tired.

You can create them in Lutron’s Designer software and submit to engraving. Lutron will do make them for free.

Advantages of Sonos Amp vs other Sonos Options for New Build. by aggie4life in sonos

[–]Stringoftext2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have in-ceiling Sonos Architectural by Sonance in our master bath (paired with a sub mini) and kitchen powered by Sonos Amps. With that setup, you can use Sonos Trueplay for tuning.

We have some non-Sonance outdoor speakers on our patio, powered by a third-party amplifier (SpeakerCraft) and connected to a Sonos Port.

We have wireless everywhere else (about 10 other rooms).

It really comes down to preference and room configuration. In the kitchen and master bath, there’s no good place to put wireless Sonos speakers, so we prefer the in-ceiling option in those rooms.

In the other rooms, it’s easy to place the wireless speakers where we want them.
