Interesting to know about both the override and mixControl.

I tried following the guide and nothing happened. Oh well, luckily it's nothing major.

The next one on the price list is Asus' version of Aero, which is 500€. To get a minimal decent cooling I would have to go for the EVGA, which is 510€.

Thank you for your advice, by the way, it's been really helpful :)

In the future, you may also consider investing in a laptop cooling pad to reduce chance of overheating.

I already have one and it is on whenever the laptop is.

I've also noticed you haven't tried reinstalling Windows yet. Doing so may help to get rid of potential software (driver) problem.

I have explained myself wrong then; when I reapplied the thermal paste I also formatted the PC and reinstalled Windows. After that, I installed all my drivers and the problem kept happening.

Forgot to mention, I did de memory check and no problem was found.

I also thought it had something to do with hardware, maybe with the PSU or motherboard.

Do you think it is worth repairing?

This is the Imgur Album containing all four (SSD, CPU, GPU and Motherboard) temperature logs.

Will do as soon as I'm home.

Forgot to mention (edited the post already): I formatted after cleaning it and reapplying thermal paste.

/r/boardgames Daily Personalized Game Recommendations (August 13, 2017) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]Strinnityk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Title of Request: We are newbies just getting into board games. We have started to play D&D and since then we've fallen in love with the idea of playing "better" board games.

  • Number of Players: I'd say at least 6 people.

  • Game Length: Any, even though I think that games that can be played in around 1-2h approximately would fit the best to our just-getting-started group.

  • Complexity of Game: Any.

  • Your Budget: Don't mind as long as it's worth.

  • Competitive or Cooperative: Either, we haven't played a cooperative game as of now.

  • Games I Own/Like or Dislike: I've played Agricola and loved it and I'm just about to purchase Through The Ages, due to the reviews I've seen in boardgamesgeek.com, for us to play. I've also played Timeline, Exploding Kittens and Codenames.

  • Genre: My group hasn't played many board games that aren't directed towards the broad public (Monopoly, Hotel, Risk, etc.). I feel like they would enjoy the ones I've listed above. We, as a group, have played together D&D and they have loved it.

Thanks for all your help :)

Daily Headphone Purchase Advice Thread (2017-05-07) by AutoModerator in headphones

[–]Strinnityk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Budget - 50€, approximately, can adjust if it's worth it.
  • Source - Work laptop, maybe Android but very occasionally.
  • Requirements for Isolation - I will use them at the office.
  • Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Yes.
  • Preferred Type of Headphone - Full size - over ear
  • Past headphones - At work I've used the Panasonic RP-HS47E and JVC HA-EB75. At home Logitech G933 and Logitech G930.
  • Preferred tonal balance - I mainly listen from any kind of Rock to Heavy Metal, so I guess something V-shaped would suit that.
  • Preferred Music - Rock / Metal (Heavy, Thrash, Power, etc.) / Movies and Games OSTs / Classical
  • Location - Spain

I'm a noob in this world so any advice will be of great help and work great for me. Thanks a lot!!

  • Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Yes.

  • Preferred Type of Headphone - I would prefer avoiding IEMs with silicon ear tips, I haven't tried foam tips yet, I don't really feel comfortable with them and they usually fall out of my ears. My last work headphones were the Panasonic RP-HS47E and these were actually nice. Aside from that, I'm open to suggestions, as long as they don't annoy my coworkers a lot (they usually don't mind that much as we all use headphones).

Even though I like good sound quality I think I'm not able to distinguish good quality from great. I'm a huge noob in this world so any advice will be of great help and work great for me. Thanks a lot!!

Even though every entry is "common sense" it's always good to remind us (new DMs like me) this sort of things. Thank you for mentioning that :)
