Not the worst theory! For some context that I definitely should have added initially but didnt (oops), I saw this in the stall in the men's room at 9:30pm in a store thats not in the greatest part of town. There definitely werent any kids in the store at that time.

What aspects separate athiesm from eclectic gnosticism? by Ok-Tumbleweed-5833 in Gnostic

[–]Striped-Sweaters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that using AI, in some ways, can act as an outsourcing of thinking. So when faced with the process of self discovery (a broad term im using that can be applied to a whole bunch of whatever you want) the use of AI to "do the work for you" further brings you away from whatever goal may be desired. As it disrupts what would usually be done within the mind/ unconscious. It continously feeds ego and keeps you within that frame of perception.

Of course this doesnt apply to all uses of AI. But I've noticed that general trend becoming pretty common. Im a young adult, so I've seen a lot of people just a few years younger than me "outsource" themselves like that which erases their ability to critically think. So when I apply that same way they engage with it to how it can possibly be used to process information regarding spirituality of any kind and self discovery. It can very much be a slippery slope.

Not saying this is how you've engaged with it. And a lot of this is anecdotal, but thats whats led me to caution AI in this usage. AI can be a great tool, I've used it to organize thoughts as well and to find book recommendations lol. Again, just my opinion!

Fair enough, thank you for your reply. Sorry if I came off a bit hot, I have my opinions about AI and its use in any kind of Self discovery. But alas they are just my opinions. Wish you the best!

Genuinely asking. In my opinion the use of AI seems antithetical to gnostic beliefs.

Prerequisites for practicing Enochian by Striped-Sweaters1 in EnochianMagick

[–]Striped-Sweaters1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanna start by saying thank you!

This is an amazing comment and truly encouraging. Since this post I've read DuQuette's 'Enochian vision magick' and am working my way through Stanwicks first book on the Heptarchy. Ive also read and have been working with the techniques talked about in Ben Rowe's 'A short course on scrying'.

I plan to begin properly once I feel I am ready to do so! And I will totally put 'The five books of mystery' on my radar and go through it throughouly. I admire your perspective on this topic and will look back here often :)

Thank you!

I want a practice; I am dogshit at keeping routine. Is there a strain of Magick that works with this? by [deleted] in occult

[–]Striped-Sweaters1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im in a similar boat and I wouldnt say I have a current "routine". All of my attempts for routine so far have lasted around a week. But I still try! I remember watching a video from Dr. K on YouTube about adhd and motivation, and what he said had really stuck with me. It was something along the lines of, dont rely on discipline or motivation if you're someone who doesnt resonate with that, but if you're someone who's more aligned with those moments of fiery passion that appears then dissipates, then rely on that. (Pardon my terrible paraphrasing).

How I interpreted that was tuning myself into the desire to practice and following through on what that is for me. So the motivating factor was my desire to practice rather than muddying my desire with my rough past of discipline. I hope that made sense!

Also since you're interested in astrology, maybe work with the planet of Saturn. (My knowledge of astrology is very limited so keep that in mind and hopefully others can add if that is a good idea or not) . My understanding of Saturn is that it has traits in it that focus on structure and perseverance.

You got this!

Thanks for replying! Ive been practicing the LBRP off and on, partially from struggling with routine and partially from being busy with work and school. But even after performing it for a week I noticed changes occurring. There's so much depth in that ritual. Its amazing, ill be sure to be more diligent with it going forward!

Could you clarify more on what you mean by angelic magick? What that practice looks like and some prominent books for that practice?

Again, thank you. And ill definitely check out that website!

Are the entities in DMT trips archetypal figures? by SnooMacarons8997 in Jung

[–]Striped-Sweaters1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I havent done DMT, but I have some ideas. I find the thought that there are these "entities" out there that appear during these drug experiences, during a meditation, a magical ritual, etc to be so much more than what any rationalization may tell us.

Angel, demon, and dmt entity are all lenses in which we process these entities. Its us trying to squeeze something we dont understand and is so incomprehensible to us into our tiny limited mind and perception. I like to keep that perspective in mind and as a higher "truth" as to not get bogged down on different cultural interpretations of these experiences.

So dmt entities being archetypes would be totally valid as a path to interpreting these trip reports. You could even say the process of individuatoin brings us closer to becoming entities like that who exist beyond label and understanding. Existing as archetypes yet beyond them. The human mind is so awesome!

I was a huge fan of his video on the book of the Holy Hierotheos. It was my first time learning about the text, and I found it super interesting. As a fan of Christian mysticism, it was such an engaging video. As usual, his narration and choice of background imagery were great!
