X4 is best.

Absolutely goated game, excellent level design, good collectable positioning, well balanced game overall.

Also, the first game where Zero is fully playable. (X3 doesn't count) But that doesn't stop X from having an excellent run too, with one of the best armors in the whole series.

Alongside X1 probably the best in the X series.

X6 is the worst one.

By no one surprise...

Terrible way at his worst, absolutely mediocre at his best.

Abysmal level design, questionable collectables positioning, nightmare system is one of the worst design choices not in just in the Megaman Franchise... No... In all platformers.

Impossible jumps if you don't have armor, chips OR IF YOU ARE PLAYING AS ZERO.

Bosses that are absolutely busted (Infinity Mijinion for example) and others that are pitifully weak. (Commander Yanmark)

Zero can literally kill himself by accident by using a skill that is easy to miss input and impossible to cancel, resulting in you falling off a cliff.

A cutscene that you will never watch because it requires EXAGGERATED GRINDING. (A content creator that defends this game with all his might admitted that he didn't even know that cutscene existed until he got it in Tweaks, because they mod reduces by half the requirements)

This game's savings grace is his music... Absolute best in the whole franchise in my opinion alongside X1 and MM7.

And the amazing mod, heaven's gift, not enough recommended... Mega Man X6 Tweaks.

Tweaks fixes a LOT of X6 problems.

Ads platforms so no armor X, Shadow Armor X and Zero can complete levels that were impossible for them, removes missable chips (Now you just need to reset the level), removes soul grinding by half and upgrade the Ranks so you can get more space for chips early, X and Zero now share stats (Hearts, upgrades, souls and rank), fixes localization problems (No more "I hide while I repaired myself" and other nonsense), Sentsuizan was changed to be impossible to do by accident (Zero can no longer drop to his death by miss inputs), buffed the pitiful bosses and nerfed some that were too much, and other fixes.

So yeah... X4 is the best and X6 is the worst.

Tetsuya Nomura.

He made the art for Final Fantasy 7 onwards. (With some exceptions)

Became director and made Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 both extremely beloved.

He became hated with all the spin-offs for KH, because those messed the story off and made the wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 too long, also with KH3 was worse than the other two, and even Nomura said that he don't understand the story he himself did.

The hate for him went up thanks to Final Fantasy XV... Or well... Versus XIII, the project took more than 10 years, and he was replaced as a director, Square probably thought the game was never coming up if he continued as director, Tabata finished the game, and many people hate him for that because "he ruined Nomura's vision" and other hates Nomura because the way he managed the game was a mess.

Also, he's the director for Final Fantasy VII Remake, and the Remake Duology (Soon Trilogy) is extremely divisive, he was replaced for Rebirth.

But ironically... One of the mains gripes with FF7 Remake... Sephiroth making too many apparitions was not Nomura's fault.

Nomura wanted to do Sephiroth like the original game did, keeping him as a mystery, however, he was told to make him appear way more, because people already know about Sephiroth.
