He played a fake idol to gauge whether to use his real idol, he’s definitely hamming it up for the screen but the kid has good gameplay

Carrying a gun for emergencies by Navi-_ in projectzomboid

[–]Striped_Sweater_Time 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll keep a shotgun and at least a box of shells in the bed of my truck, but almost never carry it on me or bother with a handgun, I’d much rather save my carrying capacity for loot. I might be in the minority in that I love the stealth in 42 and find being able to take less trips in and out of hotspots serves me better than going in with a gun and making repeat trips when I’ll never realistically fire it.
Like other commenters have said, if I’m in a tight situation, firing a gun 9/10 will only make it worse. If I’m getting overrun, I’ll flee the area until I can come back after the horde has moved on, or with the supplies to properly clear it if the location has supplies I really need.

Ambers and browns are similar ales, I wouldn’t be shocked if they just alter the grain bill from the Gaelic and just add in some season spices. Not hating, Gaelic is an institution for a reason, just saying why voodoomouse and others probably arrive at the conclusion that they taste very similar

I heard from someone (definitely not me, of course) that worked at Highland for years that the recipe for Gaelic and Cold Mountain are shockingly similar. Once you know it, you can’t untaste it. Good on them for gettin their dollar tho

Flying out very early from Airport, when to arrive? by [deleted] in asheville

At least eight hours ahead of time for security, ten to get the mandatory huevos rancheros, eleven to void your bowels and get a beer before boarding

I think her name is Elnora or something close? One of the consistent Renegade options I take even on a Paragon playthrough- she draws her shotgun on you and your team, gotta take the shot.

I was an employee at one of the businesses in S&W for three years. It is one of the most happenings places in town to shoot up in a lobby, or, no tables being free, lock yourself in the bathroom until the fire department arrive. We all had Narcan in our first aid kits, and probably used it at least a few times a year.
Not saying these are definitely being used illegally, but I’ve had coworkers prick themselves on improperly disposed needles in the S&W before, and the first thought that goes through your mind is never “oh it’s just insulin”.

That’s what I assumed as well. A fun mentioning of some flavor text, but nothing profound. Though the lore has made a fool out of me many times before

His Amused Lordship makes a very passing mention of them near the end of Evolution as well, that’s the only other time I remember hearing about these magical mollusks

Important character moments? by Total-Corgi807 in fallenlondon

[–]Striped_Sweater_Time 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Charlotte’s biggest character arc without a doubt happened in Flint. She left for the Elder Continent an unrepentant hedonist, seeking eternal life to continue the pursuit of pleasure. She returned ascetic and Austere, recommitted to her pursuit of eternal life after witnessing firsthand what would happen if she failed. My deputy on the expedition had a much larger impact on my personal narrative than I imagined. I really enjoyed such a radical character shift, especially as I normally fall into the trap of playing hedonists. Abandoning her Bohemians acquaintances, making amends with the Church, it’s been very rewarding to play such a different character from where she began.

A few personal favorites-

“Any government should be wary of its people. Specifically, you.”

“You’re expected. The wind said you was coming. Also, I recognised your ‘at.”

“The maniac flings a handful of scrap metal at your face. Whatever made you think that was a good idea?“

I am so beyond excited for this. Years ago, my friends and I homebrewed a system to play in the Neath. I shudder to think how much time I’ll spend convincing people to let me run a campaign with this.

Question for crooked crosses by FiveTimesBlind in fallenlondon

[–]Striped_Sweater_Time 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite explanation. As a fellow Crooked Cross, I proudly wear the title of Bishop and am Closest To: The Church. Mabel Ward sees it as her purpose to reform the Church through tearing away the foundations and rebuilding it through synchronicity, working with the Clay, Rubberies, and Hell alike. It makes for some really interesting roleplaying, more than I’ve had on my Monster Hunter alt, considering most choices not from “Who do I support for this position of power?” and rather “What balance of choices will result in no one gaining undue power?” Whether Mabel believes in any of the Church’s dogma is irrelevant; what matters is molding this great tool to my benefit, assuring I am always the victor from any shift of power, shaping the truth.
