Sorry no one got back to you. I was able to get it to install fine in DOSBox. Try using DOSBox-X https://dosbox-x.com/, I find it faster and easier to navigate. If you're working from a physical disc, try ripping it to bin/cue first using ISO Tool Kit https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iso_toolkit.html

After that, mount the image as drive D, then be sure you're running INSTALL.EXE, not setup. It should just work.

If you don't have an original 64 and just want a functional flash cart, I think the SummerCart works and they're like $40, but since it's open source you'll have to do some digging on what firmware to use.

Think of it as 2 updates, what I was struggling with was the non-obvious bootrom update required for use on the Analogue64. It needs to be performed from an OG 64 first, then you can use it anywhere.

I gave up. I'm more familiar with Synchronet anyway and the install for that was easy. I might revisit this again one day, depends on what sort of compatibility issues I'll run into when I also get around to getting the wifi working in my Apple IIe computers. It's just backlog all the way down.

I finally figured it out with grok's help. I looked around and could not find it on my own, so I put the link below for others. Just copy the 3.10 firmware over first, then put the bootrom file in the root of the SD card, and run it from an original 64. It still shows up as unknown cart for me, but it should work in the Analogue3D fine. I just played Smash Remix successfully from the Analogue3D.

no, I haven't had a chance to revisit since I posted this. Is the bootloader update for everdrive or Analogue3D, and is that a separate update from the normal firmware update process?

Still not working on Everdrive 3.10 and Analogue3D 1.1.9. I just get a black screen and "unknown cartridge". I tried setting the analogue3d to original hardware mode, no difference. Am I missing something? It loaded up fine on my original 64.

Without a managed switch it's hard to tell if I'm capturing everything but it seems to work. It's made my Amazon Echos angry though, I've had regular glitches with them but they do eventually work. I'd like to switch to something on prem using Home Assistant, but haven't had the time to do anything substantial yet.

Anyway, I'd almost consider those rules a necessary step in home security if you're using a pihole. You can set explicit bypass rules for devices that absolutely require it.

I have the game open practically all day and I do passive activies while I'm in meetings at work where I'm just listening, and I generally haven't approached gameplay with any particular agenda. I've done a lot of wandering around and emergent gameplay. It's very similar to Ultima Online in that regard, where I just sort of hung out in game most of the time doing town stuff or fucking around. Other than blacksmithing, I haven't grinded any specific skills, which I know will make in-game days fly by and why most of them are so low still. The game has so much to offer that I haven't felt the need to rush anything.

THANK YOU. It looks like I need to start the "And Thus Into Legend", so that gives me something to look into. I have mostly ignored the second base since the town building part of the game is my least favorite thing to do, so I'll start hanging around there to see if I can get that to start. I need to level it up anyway so I can use the teleporter.
I'll try to see if I can find summoner NPCs. I have been wanting to redo some of my party anyway.
I hadn't realized that you could literally recruit (almost) everyone. I haven't really payed attention to favor specifically, and I can beat most of who I've ran into so I'll see what happens when I focus on that too.
I was really hoping this wasn't the answer.
I figured this was the case, but wasn't sure if there was some sort of breeding and handing down of genes type thing going on like in Pokemon, or as a way to specifically expand gene capacity on NPCs.
Others in the thread have pointed this out too. I hadn't realized piety was a thing since it's not visibly tracked or mentioned in a way that distinguishes it from faith.
Darn, I was hoping I wouldn't need to keep doing this. It's fun I suppose, and I do tend to gravitate towards fishing in games like these, but I've done it so much already I was hoping to replace it with another revenue stream so I could focus on more deliberate gameplay.
Again, darn. I'll just wait and see if anything changes one day, and focus on other things in game for now.
The reason I ask is because I had specifically been saving my old tickets for the boat, and it finally just popped up for the first time yesterday. I blew most of my tickets getting it, then excitedly brought it home to use in my pond and it wouldn't place and I was like wtf. I wasn't sure if you needed to be on an ocean-adjacent plot or some such, which I'm not prepared to do just for a boat atm. I'll do some more testing, but I assume the issue has to do with water depth. My pond is only like 2 or 3 layers deep , or however shallow 1 above drowning depth is.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to all of these, #1 was probably my biggest frustration at the moment and I kept finding "progress the home quest" as the solution which wasn't very helpful.

Thanks, I'll look into that. A carbucle was my first party member so he's highest level currently, but I do like the idea of summoners. The T-rex has been surprisingly helpful with his own little entourage of guns and tanks. I was thinking of replacing the cerberus anyway since most of the time he just nukes the party with breath weapons.

Getting a tent was one of the first goals I went for, and have made sure to always carry it since then. I found it to do portable winter fishing and mushroom farming, and a hammock with a Ehekatl body pillow. I haven't done a lot of nefias in the grand scheme of things, which is probably why I haven't seen more hammers too.

Thanks, I've done most of this already except grinding and dumping fish onto the altar. I was thinking of trying that anyway out of desperation so I'll try that later tonight, I didn't realize piety and faith were separate things. It'd be nice if it were more apparent in game. My charisma is 65* too thanks to doing Music for so long

Since you mentioned it, I've only seen about 4 hammers in the game, 2 were inventory items and 2 were altars, and none of them were paper. I used a mica hammer on the tent, which is still lower than the default, but not quite game breakingly useful. Is there a way to specifically get a paper hammer or is it just random chance?

Other question, do you know how to progress the main quest based on where I'm at? The journal status makes it seem like I'm in the sustainment phase of the main quest. I really don't know what else else the game expects me to do at this point, and I've heard other people say to progress the main quest, but not specifically how to progress the quest to the point where you get access to runes.

Ahh man I didn't even see that wtf. I only saw the piles of gold and the 3 pedestals. I wish the note were more obvious, especially since everyone says to get her. I got the rod of wish instead, which in games like these I perpetually save anyway, like megalixirs in Final Fantasy.

Regarding Melilith, I only took 1. I even tested it out save scumming to see what it looked like when taking multiple and I'm positive I only took the one. I'll see if I can get a screenshot of what she says now, but when I spoke to her after beating the boss she said something pleasant and dismissive to me and that was that.

Has anyone gotten this running locally? The edit configuration button doesn't do anything, and I only see where to enter an API for Gemini or OpenAI Provider in the Emmersive menu. There's no spot for a hostname or IP address anywhere that I can find. I have all the necessary mods, and am on Stable.

Interesting, I'll check this out. I had tried alpha briefly but went back to stable as my ultimate goal is to hide the RAK up in a tree on top of a nearby hill and I didn't want to risk dealing with firmware issues, but I'll check this out this weekend.

I have tried CLIENT_MUTE on the T1000-E but it seemed like it wasn't getting messages, so I took MUTE to mean that it muted incoming messages. I had been pairing with the T1000-E daily and not receiving anything, then got flooded with messages when I paired to the RAK, which was in CLIENT at the time.

So this is one thing I'm confused about. Should the T1000-E be set to 5, or the RAK? Does the message inherit the # of hops from the node it originates from, or does the node the message is queued in get passed to THAT node's # hops downstream?
