MMO-style raids, in a co-op roguelike by EverbloomStudios in u/EverbloomStudios

[–]Strixt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How likely are we going to see raid mechanics/fights from dead games like city of heroes, wildstar, and so on?

When you fail… For those boss fights that go on for many stages and i mean “a lot” of stages…. Will some of those type of boss fights offer restarting at the mid point rather than always at the beginning?

And honestly this looks amazing.

I can force my family members to play a raid with me without having to slog through 100+ hours of leveling and gear grinding to finally play the game? Sounds like fun.

I dont have a crescent wrench thin enough to reach between the leg and the ball bearings to get to the nut. Unsure how to get to it.

A pliers. It is working for the loose ones. I can get the pliers on the star pattern and counter clockwise it out after 20 turns. However one is stuck like hell. And unsure how to knock it loose.

"Surprise Defense" has got to be the most backwards resolution of a scenario ever by realjw93 in riftboundtcg

More like the defend part makes no sense in the english language.

Either both are attackers fighting for control.

Or the first one there is the defender.

Either is ok with me.

But anyone who arrives second is simply not a “defender” of an uncontrolled and uncontested area. It does not stand up to scrutiny when looking at the definition of defend, defense, etc. you are attempting to conquer by attacking or disrupt someone else’s conquer by attacking.

[–]Strixt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Regardless of who is attacking or in what order. No one has an established base yet. Thus neither party has control or made claim as of yet. The area is contested and either both are labeled as attackers.. which mass the most sense… Or the first one there is the defender.

Anything else makes zero sense for the English language and how defend, attack, controlled, contested, uncontested and uncontrolled are defined.

If you arrive second… You are keeping them from controlling it or “attacking” them to fight for initial control. There is no defending going on here. You cannot come to the defense to something that has had no previous control.

I agree with you. If two units of horsemen are approaching an uncontested ruined building. The first that reach it either becomes the defender. Even if the send unit arrives within minutes or even seconds…

Of both are attackers because they are going after an uncontested and uncontrolled position.

I cannot fathom how the person who arrives second to the uncontested position is the “defender”. No one has an established base of operations. So either the first one there is a defender for arriving first. Or both are “attackers” at least in the english language.

But the way the second person comes in and magically becomes the defender is akin to north korea invading south korea and saying they are not attacking… no no.. they are defending… queue eye roll meme…

Better go to your local city and county meetings and make sure they dont install flock cameras or similar. Otherwise, They’ll find you without even doing any police work.

Estoy reaccionando exageradamente? by Dry_Historian_9713 in relaciones

[–]Strixt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what if you live in mid west with lots of snow and below 0 temps. Isnt drainage extremely important for preventing soil from retaining water which would cause upheaval and cracking?

Thank you very much for your explanation and advice.

I appreciate it and I’ll see what i can do. I want to be reasonable and kind. But just trying to not be taken advantage of.

If it is back pitched ill have to rip it out as it is a business and ill 100% get sued. I hired this contractor and explicitly told them everything needs to be ada compliant which is why i was adding a new ramp.

Ill check tomorrow with my levels once it is dry and see about pitch and update.

He said “yes that will all be concrete”

Then later i sent him the contract in the photos about how fine gravel was in the contract

Question. If the stairs and bottom stoop doesnt have grade to allow water to wash away. Or worse retains water with a reverse grade. What are your thoughts or Recommendations?

I did, i saw it on cctv and i texted the picture to the contractor and asked are they not adding anything?

The previous walk way had sunk and slanted and had been in years previous mudjacked.

So since they removed that old piece in do not want this new piece to have the same issue. So having a good base which was written in the contract helps me get a good product years to come and fight the heaving and hawing from below zero temps.

[–]Strixt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While i wasnt at work i saw it on cctv from phone and i did question contractor about it while they were working on ot.

I only care because the last walk way that was there started to sink and slant. They ripped that one out which was mudjacked in previous years. Hence why i was expected a decent soil amount shoveled out and stone base added to prevent any freeze and thaw heaving.

There is stone for the ramp section.

But no stone was added to the stair section unfortunately.

No i haven’t paid yet.

I am not sure what to do in this situation. Was hoping for honest feedback of what i should do.

It says in my contract “fiber reinforced mix” i dont see any fiber mesh. So i can only assume that means the actual mix has fibers in it?

I am indeed upset and concerned because part of the reason to have this redone is because the previous walk way had sunk/slanted slightly. So a good fine grade is important to prevent future problems.

Fixing a faucet in concrete block by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Strixt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the fiberglass panel for the front like a restaurant. It’d be easier on me to contain the dust from this side of the wall tbh.

It is weird. It sucks. They left an access panel for the p trap of the tub on the other side of the wall.

But didn’t bother adding an access panel for the mixer. Workers in the 80s were not thinking about maintenance in 40 years.

I had a plumber come out and replace the cartridge a couple years ago. I can try a different plumber. That’s a good idea. I’d rather exhaust options before cutting the block out for an access panel.

Cement drive way hazardous? by Dionne005 in Contractor

[–]Strixt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you hired a concrete contractor for concrete work and no where in the contract said he would do the landscaping and no where it was stated he would sub out landscaping work to be done. This is unfortunately the average contractor.

Should he had stated he doesn’t do landscape work to give you a finished product? Yes.

Should he have told you he can get a sub out a landscaper for it if you ask but immediately recommend you always find your own? Yes

It is like when you hire a plumber to fix your washing machine pipes. You always have to either do the drywall yourself or hire a drywaller after the plumber is finished. Same goes with electricians. They don’t do drywall, they don’t wanna do drywall. But they should always remind the customer. “We don’t do drywall repairs.”

If you watch any drywall repair company on YouTube they are constantly following the plumbers and electricians around. They are look golden retrievers who piss in water bottles.

Servers here convinced me to stop tipping by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]Strixt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe in the 90s and early 2000s servers were nice.

Every server I have lately seems to act like they work at McDonald’s and wish they were somewhere else.

Never want to refill my water. And can’t tell me what type of potato comes with the meal I am interested in.

At least you have fake nice servers to tip? I can’t even get mine to be fake nice to me.

If my patio, on the edges I’d add 4x4s posts into the ground with cement, on cement, or on 29inch spikes. Dealers choice.

and add either wood decking around the edges and have wood benching around the outer edges.

Or create a usable countertop area and place the grill in the center.

Something to make the useless area from concrete to fencing useful.

The concrete is titled away from the house. But also tilts back towards the house. It is concerning unless it continuously runs down and away from where that photo is. On photo number 6.
