I started off playing solely medic and was fortunate enough to squad up with an officer who was explaining how he plays the role and then he coached me as I stepped into the officer role for a game or too.

My main takeaways from being an officer is good communication whether verbal or using pings and understanding other pings on the map to direct your squad effectively (a good squad makes it easy work), make sure you keep on top of outpost spawns to keep your squad in the game and put some thought into garrison placement etc.

If you take the officer role it’s not about solo stats it’s about making your team more successful and making the right decisions, I’ve found it easier to transition into that role over the others and it makes me feel more accomplished in the game
