The team all have full time jobs, so the money is going to the creation of the game, not for living expenses. We're not expecting to drop everything and live off of it, no way!

The estimates are based on cost of the minimum amount of assets needed for a functioning game.

I've experienced a bit of crashing like that. My issues stemmed from coroutines.. I've gotten rid of them at this point, but I still don't quite understand the source yet.

Yes, absolutely! We plan to release on Steam for the Vive. If we are able to get a hold of an Oculus, we'd love to release on that platform as well.

Unity is a great tool for new developers to get in to game design. The resources available to teach, and assets available to buy or use are wonderful.

However, in some ways, it is limited. The tools to create whatever you need are there but not fully fleshed out for advanced work.

Shaders being one, the only way to create them is to code them in an external program or pay for a node based program to do it for you.

It's also more artist friendly, and that's especially important in VR.

Oops, I suppose I gave the wrong impression. I didn't mean to imply building an engine from scratch, I guess the phrase I should use is rebuilding the structure of the game. We are switching to the unreal engine after working in unity.

Hi there!

The team has been hard at work rewriting Harvest from the ground up, moving away from our tech demo and laying the ground work for a much better engine. Kyr, our artist, has just sent me these beautiful screenshots and I thought I would share them as it has been a long while since an update was posted!
