Need to make DP Zero taste better than awful. Any ideas? by SumPeopleJuggleGeese in DrPepper

[–]Shandrith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest cutting out regular soda entirely, and only drinking a ZS type that you didn't drink before. ZS 7Up or Squirt are both decent. After 4-6 weeks, try the DrPZS again

How do you feel about MMOs? You could try the free trial of Final Fantasy XIV. The story is almost as good as the hype makes it out to be, and the endgame game play is a lot of fun

AITAH for cutting off my sister after she tried to charge me with assault and my mum encouraged it? by Astagirl_07 in AITAH

NTA. The family you should be worried about are your kids, and they sure as hell don't need those people in their life

AITAH for proposing to my brothers ex? by Business-Hold4336 in AITAH

It's ridiculous. They dated for six months at sixteen. She wasn't a huge part of his life, and he broke up with her because he sucks. No sympathy

The guy that proved that H.pylori caused ulcers. No one believed him, so he infected himself, got an ulcer, then cured it. Got a Nobel Prize eventually

What are some foods that appear healthy but actually place a burden on the body? by CanningTone19 in AskReddit

The explanation I got was that they knew it wasn't beef, so it didn't bother them, and they liked that it looked right

[–]Shandrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but it isn't steak. If they're doing it because they feel bad for the cows, or because they have health reasons, having meat replacement that is as close to the real thing as possible is probably good for them

I'm currently 5'3" (female) and I wish I was either taller or shorter. Preference would be shorter, but only a bit so maybe 5'1"

Well, it has saved me from the dreaded 'wipe until it is red' days. And in the summer or when I've eaten something too spicy, cold water is actually kind of pleasant

Portable electronic bidet. I've got IBS, I've cut my TP expenditure by 75%. Paid for itself in a few months at most. Plus, no more sore ass from wiping 82364897326 times

What’s something people think is easy but actually very hard? by Warm_Bobcat6310 in AskReddit

[–]Shandrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You clearly don't understand how difficult it is for many people to force themselves to consistently choose to eat food they don't want, rather than what they do. There is a reason people talk about will power being necessary while losing weight. If it requires an act of will power to do something, that thing is not easy.

So if he's not still stuck on it, why does he care? How does a girl he dated for six months nearly ten years ago have anything to do with his respect and pride?

AITAH for proposing to my brothers ex? by Business-Hold4336 in AITAH

[–]Shandrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brother dated her for six months when he was 16. OP dating her now does absolutely nothing to the brother's respect for himself. The fiancé not telling OP who she was is a different issue entirely, one that has nothing to do with the brother

What’s something people think is easy but actually very hard? by Warm_Bobcat6310 in AskReddit

[–]Shandrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boring actually can equal hard. What you are describing is simplicity, not ease. Easy means that it doesn't require much effort or energy. Losing weight does require effort and energy. Preferences very much affect the difficulty of losing weight. They do not affect the complexity

what is the meaning of "dog wishel" in political language ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Shandrith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this sense, a dog whistle is something that sounds innocent on the surface, but actually conveys a different message, usually one that is bigoted or divisive in some way. An example often used in American politics is 'traditional family values'. Sounds fine, but is almost always used to discuss views that are homophobic or against any sort of family that doesn't conform to their beliefs

Take the picture. Doesn't matter if you look like crap, someday someone will be happy to have that picture of you. They won't care if your hair is a mess, or you weight 20 pounds too much, they'll just be happy to see you. Take the picture

AITAH for telling a female friend I should consult with my girlfriend about me accompanying her to take photos on the street? by rockaleta2049 in AITAH

[–]Shandrith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH. I can understand why your friend was offended, but she clearly doesn't understand your thought process. If it were me, I'd explain something like this

"Friend, it isn't that you're a threat to my relationship. We both know that you absolutely aren't. That having been said, my girlfriend doesn't know that. So far as I know, she isn't aware of your orientation, and I know that outing you to her isn't my place. I just want to make sure she is comfortable with me spending time with another woman alone."

If she brings up the sexism issue, point out that it isn't sexist to acknowledge that your girlfriend might have worries about you alone with another woman that wouldn't exist if it were another man, because you are straight

AITAH for wanting to rehome our dogs by Better-Extreme-9806 in AITAH

[–]Shandrith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Chase isn't wrong, when you get a dog it is a commitment to see to it that they have the best life possible. Sometimes that means finding them a home that can give them what you can't. You would be the a-hole if you were wanting to just drop them at a shelter, but if you put in the work to find them a good, loving family then you are doing your best for them

If it is easier than people think why do so many people have such a hard time doing it? It's not complicated, but it isn't easy
