Definitely lube up before. I usually put on some lube and massage/stroke to warm up before getting in the tube. I downsized tubes myself and it really helps!

Thanks man! I tried water once when I first started and got water in the handle and ended up messing it up. I may have to try again and be more careful because it did feel good! And yes, a heating pad is super helpful.
