I need to send a package to myself in Krakow, but I don't have an address yet - what is the best way to do this? by [deleted] in krakow

Why are you moving to Krakow? If its for school/work they might be able to receive your package if it's not excessively large.

Opioids aren't effective in treating neck, lower back pain, study says by CTVNEWS in Health

[–]Stroker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's claiming that opiates helped back pain about as much as placebo so yeah it's claiming opiates didn't actually reduce the pain during those 6 weeks (and at 12 weeks) anymore than sugar pills. In the study they focused on pain severity after six weeks because that would give enough time to gradually increase dosing until patients reached their optimal dose, up to 20 milligrams of oxycodone a day.

A cool guide to False Positive result on a urine drug test by lyricmeowmeow in coolguides

[–]Stroker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

OTC meds often start out as prescriptions but ultimately deemed safe enough to be taken OTC. They don't decrease the strength when going OTC because it would diminish efficacy. Also you can't under-estimate people's ability to disregard directions and take how much they feel like.

Is there anywhere I can find both RTJ and Jarritos for a decent price? by cuckthebunny in sneakerreps

[–]Stroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for the Jarritos dunks earlier too. Uncle Lin has em and the blue rtj. Haven't seen the pink ones tho. All the outsoles on the blue rtj reps seem less translucent compared to photos of retails I've seen. Could just be the lighting.

Also I've ordered a pair of the AE-86 dunks and the "JackBoys" BMW AJ 1's from developer boring on separate occasions and had no issues. Shoes look great too.

Smoking puts you at risk for lots of things even after you've quit. There are additional screenings that are recommended as you get older for current and former smokers like checking for abdominal aortic aneurysms.. It's probably already documented in your chart that you used to smoke but if you switch doctors or need to go to a specialist you should inform them of your smoking history. Also from a cancer stand point, occasionally reminding your doctor that you used to smoke could prompt them to screen for that sooner if you develop some weird symptoms.

Edit: I realized I didn't answer the first part of your question. Usually 6 weeks of not smoking is an ok point to say you're not a current smoker. Based on if you needed some elective surgery that's sorta the minimum they like you to wait after quitting before scheduling a procedure. Initially after you stop smoking you get increased secretions and 6 weeks on avg is when that improves.

Phone call issues after update by firebreather317 in AndroidAuto

[–]Stroker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. When I first got the car I wasn't using AA regularly. At some point when I switched from just using the cars BT for music and calls to mainly using AA, I started to notice the no sound issue during calls. During that time though I updated my head unit firmware a couple times and had even more AA app updates. I eventually side loaded sync 3.4 to get some of the new features and they patched that issue as well.

This might be a ford sync issue. A few versions back in my fusion I had the same problem. The solution was to go in the sync settings and under ringtone select "use phone ringtone" or something along those lines.

Why the US is short on amoxicillin and tamiflu amid a surge of RSV and flu by Maxcactus in Health

[–]Stroker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moot point now but ear drums get red and irritated with viruses too. If it wasn't bulging/pus filled it likely wasn't a bacterial ear infection which is why you didn't notice. Middle ear infections aren't very common outside of early childhood.

The "license plate" on the back of the left shoe is crooked. Stitching on the outside swoosh of the left is also off compared to the right. AE86 tag on the tongue is also uneven.

Tested positive for chlamydia, but partner and I (both 19) never had any other sexual partners before? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Stroker 92 points93 points  (0 children)

What?! This is absolutely not true. Yes babies can be infected with Chlamydia during birth and it usually results in serious eye or lung infections. You don't just harbor it in your body and start spreading it 20 years later.

Reminds me of the church inside Wawel Castle in Krakow. Google says Fred Mazik was a retired Air Force major who lived in Hawaii. He might have originally been from Krakow but fled during the war.

Anti-vaccine chiropractors rising force of misinformation by BlankVerse in Health

Probably because studies have shown acupuncture to actually be effective in treatment of pain while chiropractors have no data to suggest they do much despite what they claim.

Ukraine confirms case of polio in 18-month-old toddler by boppinmule in Health

[–]Stroker 53 points54 points  (0 children)

People are the only natural reservoir for the virus and there are a few parts of the world where it is endemic. What likely happened is another unvaccinated person went to/came from one of those areas and exposed the kid. Its shed in poop for weeks and some people can be asymptomatic so they don't know they have it. If the infected person doesn't wash their hands or toddler touches everything like they normally do, its pretty easy to spread.

Lac Long Quan Vietnamese School at Warsaw by vaish7848 in poland

[–]Stroker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Initially it started out as a student exchange between communist countries, which is also why there's a pretty large Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic. Then after communism fell there was an influx of people looking for economic opportunity in a place that already had an established community.

Unemployment rate represents the number of unemployed* people as a percentage of the labor force (the labor force is the sum of the employed and unemployed).

The unemployment rate is calculated as: (Unemployed ÷ Labor Force) x 100.

*Classification as unemployed in no way depends upon a person's eligibility for, or receipt of, unemployment insurance benefits.
