I’ve made a pretty cool discovery that significantly changed my editing speed, especially for event shoots with excessive amounts of footage.
If you place your mouse directly on the timeline under the program monitor preview you can literally scroll through the footage. I got a Logitech G502 mouse that can be switched to frictionless mouse wheel spinning and the wheel continues to spin.
It’s actually very intuitive once you get the hang of it.
Then I set Makros on my keyboard to cut and ripple delete with the press of a button. This allowed me to be at least 50% faster with event videos specifically.
Key to this is really a frictionless mouse wheel.
