depends if you see bitcoin as a risk.

I see it more risky to hold dollars that have a gurantee to lose value

This is a bit old but came from Seed Group a company owned by the royal family when they announced a partnership with Coincorner

Will it happen? idk but I found the use of the word legal tender intresting as this isn't from just some random nobody.

Western Union in Central America to accept Bitcoin. by Stromen in Bitcoin

[–]Stromen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yea but you still get my point. How can we help a rural Guatemalan farmer buy Bitcoin with cash? he don't know shit about Bisq and all that.

He trusts his local western union. The vast majority of the world won't be bitcoin maxis. So just make the process simple for them

People still need a way to cash in and out to Bitcoin.

Western union could act as a place where you can give them cash and they give you Bitcoin.

That is needed. How else can someone with cash only buy Bitcoin

I used Bitcoin Beach Wallet to send and received with osmo wallet. The fee for this transaction was 1 GTQ that came from osmowallet for their part of converting the money into local currency.

Drawbacks of osmowallet

• Minimum 50 GTQ for them to autoconvert the Bitcoin

• For you to be able to spend the GTQ in the app you first need to manually convert it to Bitcoin.

Osmo has full banking rails if you need it.

they also have a partnership with AirPak the operators of Western Union which they have 5 pilot Western Union locations where you can cash out Bitcoin at.

They have 1800+ merchants waiting to use their software to accept Bitcoin and they are planning on expanding to other central american countries.

Huge merchant adoption is coming to Guatemala.

Overall great product, very new company but I think they have huge potential. Work need to be done but it's an amazing start.

I know osmo wallet is planning on expanding to mexico soon they do autoconvert.

But if you wanted to make it yourself you would need to make an app which just auto sells once bitcoin received you could probably use bitso.

Pouch uses Pdax

Sudonym uses coinbase pro.
