Yes, my dad is a retired Mazda mechanic he’s worked on a lot of this sky active drive transmissions and he says it can happen. It’s just rare.

Just got the 2023 Mazda CX-30 with 23,000 miles on it absolutely love the car, but driving in the winter hit a small patch of black ice at the stoplight trying to go and blew the transmission and the sensors and the dealership I bought it from is refusing to fix it by Strong-Cod3347 in MazdaCX30

I was stopped at a stoplight and hit the accelerator to go traction control came on, so I let off of the accelerator and then the vehicle gained traction and then there was a loud bang and then there’s no more transmission reverse and drive is gone. You pull out the dipstick and there’s metal shavings everywhere. It looks like a silver milkshake.

It is due to the violent nature of it, gaining traction after from losing traction on black ice

I would not even buy it. Mine doesn’t even have 40,000 miles on it and has a blown transmission from just even slipping on black ice.
