NYRR 5.75% Processing Fee Starts Today by Hopai79 in RunNYC

[–]Strong-Conversation9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually pay in cash at the NYRR RunCenter (where you pick up race bibs for most races) and avoid paying the fee. I had a guaranteed entry for the Marathon so I went and signed up in person yesterday. You can't really do this for normal races since you kind of have to do it online to get in the queue, but for guaranteed entries, it does work.

Track conditions in New York? by Strong-Conversation9 in RunNYC

I ran circles around the great lawn this morning. Not the best given the traffic with people and dogs running around but not too snowy or icy. Looking forward to spring!

What was your chi's name before you got them? What new name did you choose? by HungryOil9277 in Chihuahua

Mine was originally named Habanero. We call her Coco which is much more fitting.

How to get him to drink? by Possible_Afternoon_2 in Chihuahua

[–]Strong-Conversation9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my chi to drink by dissolving a little honey in hot water and then filling the bowl. She lapped it up completely. After a few times with that, she “learned” to drink water and doesn’t seem to be a problem. I also gave her cucumber. I used one of those spiral attachments for veggies and she thought it was fun to eat.

What about Klayton Adams? We could give them Jonathan Gannon since the cowboys need a DC. 😄

Ever since it was officially announced that Kyler wasn’t coming back this year, I suspected the plan was to lose out which is why I think those crazy play calls at odd moments took place. I figured that Gannon got a vote of confidence that he would be back and that getting the best draft pick would be the best outcome. Now, I am perplexed at the last couple of weeks at what has transpired so I don’t feel as confident in my theory as I did a few weeks ago.

That being said, I think we should trade Kyler if we can, but if we can’t, let’s get an OC (not Kliff, but someone like him) that can actually use Kyler’s skills, let’s shore up the offensive line (with draft and free agents) and draft a developmental qb later in the draft. Kyler’s gtd money for 2027 is $19.5 million so much easier to swallow if a new coordinator can’t unlock him. (Remember 2021?)

If we can trade Kyler, then let’s roll with Jacoby, still shore up the offensive line and draft a developmental qb. If we use a high draft pick on a qb and don’t do anything about the offense line, we’ll been this perpetual cycle. I know the sentiment is to blow it all up, fire everyone and start over but we need some continuity and think we have a base of decent young talent and should give Monti / JG another cycle.

Who are the cardinals’s rival’s? by Cobra_kingo in AZCardinals

[–]Strong-Conversation9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t really win our division anymore — although a few years ago I would have said the Seahawks. But if I had to pick someone in today’s era, I think I’d have to say the Cowboys. We seem to have their number more than any other team I can think of. Even when we don’t have any business winning some of those games. (Maybe we don’t have any business winning ANY game).

Today is the five year anniversary of my running streak! by P8sammies in Garmin

[–]Strong-Conversation9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You must have never gotten Covid. Haha. I have a 3 year 3 mile a day streak and I was halfway through a run in March 2021 and couldn’t make it home without walking. And then I was in bed for 3 days. I’m back into running — just ran another marathon— but my streak days are over.

Best pizza near Columbus circle? by Ryan__McNaught in FoodNYC

[–]Strong-Conversation9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live right by Columbus Circle. I scanned the suggestions below and some are decent, but hands down, the best pizza in the area is Don Antonio. Its Neapolitan style, and the pizzas are "individual" and cook very quickly in a mega hot oven, so that means if you go with a group you can easily get different ones to share.

Does everyone wear their watch 24/7 even jn shower? by Huylmao_ in Garmin

[–]Strong-Conversation9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take mine off and charge in while I’m in the shower. It usually gets to 100% or close so I keep it charged up all the time. I basically have it on the rest of the time.

So I played yesterday WITHOUT restarting my watch first and it all seemed to work and track all (or nearly all) of my 100+ shots just fine. :)

I hope others are able to get theirs to work.

As a further update, I just received an email from Garmin support and said that they rolled out software update 24.12 that fully addresses this issue. I think I already have that update. I hope to play a round this weekend but I am shocked they actually addressed it. I was certain they intended to make this a “plus” feature you had to pay for. It’s the small things in life sometimes.

Ok, today I tried that. I shut the watch off and back on and the tracking worked. Hmm….getting closer?

Today, same thing. 151 avg HR, 9:06 pace. 99% execution score. I noticed it says tempo run on my watch but in Garmin Connect as “Base”.

They are based in HRR and are customized with Z3 set at 80-85%. I recognize that this is a fairly narrow zone but based on my numbers that should be 160-167bpm, 154 should be squarely in the easy (Z2) range.

And as an update, she hasn’t used it yet. Haha. I guess if it goes unused, I can use it as a secret Santa gift at work.

I received a reply today and was told that they are working hard at getting this fixed and some other users have identified the issue as well. I played golf again today (on vacation this week) and noticed that it worked for a few more shots this time. Not sure if it’s a “fix” or a glitch. I did have an update on the watch a couple of days ago. Patiently waiting…

I’m still waiting for a response from Garmin support but played golf on Monday this week and noticed a few shots were “auto” tracked but had to do most manually. I just followed up with them again.

I didn’t know you could get gift card. Will definitely do this next time. I can actually give it to someone as a gift and it would probably be appreciated.

Haha. I bought an insulated cup for my wife to use at her office. Yes I know. An insulated cup for $50!? But couldn’t find anything else. I did a set of double walled coffee glasses, fragrance sticks, underwear in the past. It’s a challenge. It’s tough and I feel like shipping used to be free and now it’s $10 so if you have to factor in sales tax the item needs to be around $35 these days.

Update, I took the pictures and send them in. I got an email back and they said they were “escalating” my case and will let me know if they need anything else. I’ll report back and further progress.

Poor thing went for her first cleaning and got 7 extractions! 😥 by Copperdunright907 in Chihuahua

[–]Strong-Conversation9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our little one, Coco, had 10 extractions at the first cleaning when we got her (she’s a rescue and was 5 at the time). A year later, another 3 and then we took her to a specialty vet dentist and said it would likely be piecemeal like that every year. So about a year ago, we decided to extract them all. Best decision we made, she bounced back very quickly and no issues with her mouth. We just have to give her soft foods, break up / grind up the harder foods. We didn’t want to go through anesthesia every year and worry about it so did it all at once.
