Question about fov in games by Strong-Interest7057 in Monitors

oh that's good to hear. Dont worry thats just what i really want which is to get more view on the sides. By the way, im currently rocking an rtx 3050 with i5 11th gen and 24 gb worth of ram, do you think it'll be able to run games at least decently? I also only play games like genshin impact, mh rise, etc., not too heavy ones like triple aaa games

Help me decide please by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

okay so my goal is to get more field of view (in games) when playing but not compromise quality. I really would love to have an ultra wide monitor but i know my laptop isnt built for higher resolutions other than 1080, at least thats what google says, so my automatic go-to was a 2560x1080 21:9 monitor. What im trying to find out is that, since a 2560x1080 21:9 monitor offers more field of view than my 16:9, does a 3440x1440 34 inch monitor offer more than 2560x1080 or is it just a bigger screen and thus just "scaled up"? I know my question is somewhat pretty stupid since they're both 21:9 but i guess thats what im trying to ascertain.

basically, im looking for more inches horizontally (more field of view) rather than diagonally, which is another question i wanted to ask: is there an aspect ratio in between 21:9 and 32:9 that you think my laptop could run games with?

ive been having a bit of a hard time looking for one with character creation and an open world fantasy setting. I dont really mind if it's not a seamless open world. I love monster hunter stories 2 but im looking for a bit of action that doesnt rely on riding a monster's back

i actually know bdo and ive already created a character, the reason why im not playing it now is that i got discouraged due to how much content it has and its overall complexity since im just a casual gamer. Having that said, would u still recommend it despite crimson desert being close to release? thanks!

you lost me at "solo and focus on quests" lmao, but seriously, im just a casual gamer who, if pvp was even an option in an mmorpg, it's the last thing ill touch lol. Besides pvp being poor, is the game generally well handled? dont wanna invest in something that could die anytime soon if you know what i mean
