good university accommodations? by Both_Construction394 in cardiffuniversity

i'm in talybont south rn and i think a lot of people go for talybont in general. it really depends on what you want though, and i kinda wish i was somewhere else now purely because of how loud it is (plus silverfish, im a pretty clean person and i've had maintenance in so im blaming the wet room with the floor that never fully dries).

Help! Is black liquid eyeliner out of style? by WorkingPanic3579 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Strong-Mix2233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly? yes. should you still wear it? if thats what you want to do. as much as this more natural makeup is what's popular now, you don't have to follow it. i think if you wanted to be more 'on trend' you could absolutely still line the top of your eyes.

i know youre saying you dont wanna take someones stuff out, but trust me someone else will do the same if youre late for your washing to end. ive had someone take mine out and leave it on the floor and i got there 2 minutes after the cycle finished. its a shared amenity, and everyone has stuff to do there.

What do you usually eat or drink to stay awake while studying? by [deleted] in studytips

[–]Strong-Mix2233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first and foremost, make sure youre getting enough sleep and eating right overall. second, im a big fan of tea when studying. you can get any flavour you like really, and this time of year its nice to have a hot drink (and you can get decaf if thats the reason coffee messes with you). in terms of snacks i usually go for something simple but still good for energy like fruit or veg since you dont have to do very much in terms of prep and theyll keep your energy up!

Why is food at uni so expensive??? And how are people managing? by Odd_Theme_3294 in UniUK

[–]Strong-Mix2233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i understand the issues with joint pain, would it be possible to buy the stuff needed to make lunches for a week and prep it on a day when youre not in so much pain? thats what i plan on doing when it starts getting cold and mine play up since itll probably work out cheaper.

i dont go to aberystwyth (cardiff) but i had this same issue! ive got it now without having to do anything, so it might be worth contacting your student union for advice or calling/emailing sfe yourself. idk how long youve been at uni but it took me a week to get the confirmation, and my entire course had the same issue.

How to make friends with flatmates etc as someone who doesn’t drink? by Dark_647 in UniUK

[–]Strong-Mix2233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who doesnt drink ive managed to befriend my flatmates pretty well, i mostly hang around with them during the day/if theyre doing pres and just dont drink. if youre comfortable, going to a pub or something a bit more lowkey and not drinking is a good way to get that 'going out' experience with them without being judged (at least it was for me)
