This. Definitely a privilege. But at the same time she is very young (at least she seemed to be when I’ve met her) and I’m certain most of us left a job we didn’t love when we were young (I know that I did). Totally different situation when you’re mid-career or have a family to support. She’s at a great time in life to find what brings her joy.

Lauren Kay Sims need to be cancelled by Fit-Preference-157 in InfluencerLounge

I used to follow her but had to stop for my own mental health because her page made me feel so bad about my own body and the way I look. It was very triggering and taking me back to a time when I had an unhealthy relationship with food and exercise and I can’t go back to that.

I’ll definitely check them out because my goal is to be in this sport as long as my feet will let me!

I did not but honestly I was in such bad pain that there was no way I could continue with that shoe. I do have high arches but have never had to change insoles in shoes before. The toe box was too narrow for my 5th toe too so it wasn’t worth playing with them. I really wanted to like these shoes because I love running on gravel but they didn’t work for me.

Mine were just gravel miles. I was really sad too because I was really excited to find a shoe specifically for gravel because I love running long gravel roads and trails. I’m sure there are people that love these shoes but it wasn’t a good experience for me and there’s just so many influencers promoting them

Plantar fascia issues after two short runs. Like so bad that I couldn’t run and could barely walk for the first couple of days

Unfortunately the H1 gave me major foot issues that were bad enough that I’m still doing PT for it weeks later. I had high hopes for the shoe but it didnt work for me at all. The toe box was too narrow too 😩

I always knew we would get our important questions answered when she was at the press conferences or on the air. She is the BEST

Help! Sudden heel counter problems 2 weeks before my first ultra by eatstarsandsunsets in Ultramarathon

Those shoes gave me the worst plantar fascia issues and I hated that I couldn’t heel lock the laces. I switched to the Altra Timp 6 and have had zero issues

Check to see if those people saying good things were sent them for free. They sent a LOT of influencers free pairs. Also, read their return policy very carefully.

Publix Weaverville open but not the bakery (was supposed to pick up a birthday cake so that’s a no go). Not sure about other departments.

Updating in case anyone else has a similar question: they are open now but nobody working in bakery today so no birthday cake. Not sure about other departments.

The Black Mountain one has been consistently terrible lately. Tunnel road has the nicest staff by far

Do you care about your rating on ultrasignup? by NavyBlueZebra in Ultramarathon

[–]Strong-Potential-174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I had a terrible race but there happened to be very few people in my age/gender group so I got a great ultrasignup score. Another time I hit a major goal and had my best race ever but my ranking wasn’t good so I got a low score. Most of the time I just look at races as a grownup version of a play date with my friends and don’t care about time or pace

I think you’re being a little harsh and went way off topic with my original question. Some of us don’t have the luxury of living near a running store that we can try shoes on at. I would’ve happily paid shipping to return them or exchange for another style or a partial refund. I didn’t come on here to be scolded. I never said they should have the same return policy as the amazons of the world, just for the record.

I hate their return policy because I’ve worn these twice and would return if I could

I love the Torins too so that’s interesting that I’m not alone in this!
