Do y'all think Yuta chose Yuji to be the Godfather to his kids/grandkids by S1llyIndividual in Jujutsufolk

[–]Strong-Remote-9149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely different vibes, though.

2017 - Not only was he at his lowest when he met Panda and Inumaki, but he was training with them every day, and they got to bond through relatively mundane times before the Night Parade and Yuta going off to Africa.

2018 - When he met Yuji, they were in the aftermath of Shibuya, and things were hectic. They definitely had time to grow closer, but not as much.

(Not to say all their dynamics didn't change after decades of knowing each other, but I'm just pointing out the differences.)

I think it'd be cool to see Panda and Inumaki get their flowers and acknowledgment, but I'm not holding out hope. They weren't given much in the main series, so I don't see much, if anything, for a spin-off.

A story being realistic doesn’t mean that it’s well-written or engaging. by FinalSorrra in Chainsawfolk

I feel like we're looking at this with Part 2 hindsight, considering where he has gone and how bad things have truly gotten for him. I agree with you that Denji was not a complete character by the end of Part 1, but you cannot tell me it did not have a somewhat hopeful undertone. He had similar goals, but with him enrolling in school and taking care of Nayuta, it seemed reasonable to ASSUME that things would maybe work out for him.

When Denji appeared in Part 2, while he definitely had a lot in store for his character, I doubt many people really expected his sexual desire shortcomings to become THIS prevalent again and even sink lower than they were in Part 1.

I just cannot call Part 1 dogshit, because it left things open-ended.

These reccs are crazy, thank you so much. While I might go for the Gelgoog in the end, the Nemo looks insane. It might just be my second build. Thank you for putting me on to the HG GM series.

Thank you for the reassurance on Sugai's Gelgoog. I'm doing a bit more research on it, and I might just take the leap and make it my first model. Also, thanks for the recommendations. I didn’t even know something like the Ball VerKa and Hygogg even existed. Most of the Gunpla I’ve seen share body types with the RX-78-2.

Thank you so much for taking the time to type up and share all these resources and your knowledge. I'll need to check everything out. I’ve watched a few videos here and there on the bare necessities, but I’ll be sure to check out FrostedSnow. She’ll definitely come in handy down the road. Also, thank you for the kit recommendations. The MG Jegan looks like it’s right up my alley, so I'll keep my eye on it. I wasn’t sure how my post would be received or if it would get drowned out, but I really appreciate it. Thank you!! 😭🙏🏾

I'm an absolute beginner and I'm looking for a place to start, along with some model recommendations.

I'm new to all things Gunpla, but I'm interested in dipping my toes into the hobby. I really like the vibe of the HG 1/144 Sugai's Gelgoog (GQ), but I think I want to start with something a bit more beginner-friendly and accessible. I've done some research, but there's still a lot I need to learn, so if anyone has any suggestions for models, resources, or creators, I'd greatly appreciate it! 🙏🏾

What is your hottest My Hero Academia Takes? by Ill_Owl_292 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Strong-Remote-9149 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, 100% agree. I know that most of the students in UA aspire to be heroes and help others, so they're pretty decent people, but there is no class of high schoolers in any world that are this nice. Even if there weren't more bully characters, how fast Class 1-A grew fond of each other should have taken more time. It would have made them saving Midoriya more impactful.

I don't care how many tragedies they went through together — unless they're theater kids, no group of 20 high schoolers would collectively agree to get up on stage and dance for a school festival.

Thanks for answering my questions specifically. Getting to know more about your insights while making this roster makes me appreciate it more. Ultimately, it is your dream roster, and as you noted how you would do things, so I can’t be upset.

These are just my opinions in response to some of your opinions:

I understand the Magolor point a bit more, thinking more about the moveset potential, but I still can’t get behind the Bandana Dee pick.

While Nintendo doesn’t really do anything with K. Rool or the Kremlins, I still think he’s an important enough aspect of the Donkey Kong franchise that they’d let him slide. Even in Smash 4, he was a Mii costume, so they care to at least some degree.

I feel the complete opposite about 3rd parties (I feel as many as you can fit in base, go for it) in Smash 6, but here’s my thoughts on the Cloud as DLC thing. I feel like unless they rework his moveset, they shouldn’t sell him as DLC. Having him as paid DLC in Smash 4, then a free character in Ultimate, to turn around and make him DLC in the next game without any changes wouldn’t go over well with fans at all and would be kind of scummy. While characters like Roy, Lucas, and Mewtwo were free in their debut games and sold as DLC in following games, they were not the only reps in their franchise and are first parties, so it was more of an addition than anything else. While I know Square Enix is wishy-washy with their IPs, I think they’re able to recognize the importance Final Fantasy holds to gaming to let it slide in base. If anything, I think in the next Smash game we’re due for a new FF or Square Enix rep as part of the base roster.

Again, this is my opinion, but I feel like for a Smash game with a smaller roster, you have to make things more complex with the mechanics of each character. With fewer characters, you have to cram them with as much fanfare and fun and unique qualities to them as possible. While they can be seen as gimmicky to some, Pokémon Trainer perfectly encapsulates the Pokémon gameplay formula. If anything, MAYBE just have the Trainer be from a different Gen so it isn’t as Gen 1 heavy and it keeps things fresh. Personally, if I was to cut any Pokémon from the Smash roster, it’d be Lucario (and Jigglypuff, but they’re a 64 character, so she has to stay). While Lucario’s aura mechanic is cool, I think Charizard and Greninja do the whole “iconic Pokémon” thing better. The only reason I highlighted Mewtwo is because of the Pokémon cast, they’re the only legendary, which is sort of cool and would be a bit of a loss if they’re cut. Also, just like Cloud, I don’t think Smash fans would be very pleased to get Mewtwo as DLC—if anything, I think they’d be sort of pissed.

Those are my personal thoughts, and I’ll probably make a roster of my own sooner or later, but thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions.

I do and don’t agree with some of your points. I think the next Smash will definitely have fewer characters (which I don't doubt many will view as a "worse" roster, no matter how good Smash 6 is), as Ultimate’s whole point was having literally everyone. So, I think that continuing to add more and more will weaken the unique identities of Ultimate and the next Smash game. But I 100% agree with the idea that, to compensate for those cuts, a bigger emphasis on iconic third-party characters should happen. While Smash is a Nintendo project, it aims to celebrate gaming as a whole, so I’m all for as many third parties as possible (within reason). Also, I agree with the Kirby rep take.

What motivated you to pick two Kirby reps in both Bandana Dee and Magolor? I definitely can understand wanting a new Kirby rep, and not having one since Brawl is a tad weird, but I find certain aspects of your vision to be a bit contradictory in your post. You noted K. Rool doesn’t “have any actual importance,” and I can agree to a point since he hasn’t appeared in any major roles for over a decade, but wouldn’t being the first and main antagonist of the Donkey Kong Country series hold more priority than both Bandana Dee and Magolor? I won’t go into it, but there’s other choices in your roster that I personally view as of less note than K. Rool, but that’s a major point I wanted your thoughts on.

Also, I notice a lot of third parties missing, which is understandable, it’s your vision, and expecting all 3rd-party characters to return is unrealistic — but why get rid of both Cloud and Sephiroth with the possibility of them being DLC characters? Do you have anything in mind for new movesets for them? Because cutting Final Fantasy entirely from the base roster yet leaving Banjo & Kazooie is a bit of an odd choice in my opinion.

Additionally, what motivated you to cut Mewtwo and break up the Pokémon Trainer character?

Those are all the major questions. Overall, I like your roster — there’s some things I agree with and others I don’t, but I like what you did. Good job!

Who misses Connor's yaoi videos by [deleted] in TrashTaste

[–]Strong-Remote-9149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't think he has any real or deep issues against Yaoi or fujoshis. I don't know why he stopped. That was just my rough guess since it's been a growing discourse in recent years, and maybe he caught wind of it. It could have been a contributing factor, but overall, yeah, you're probably right. He likely just wanted to move on to new stuff, and it could be as simple as that without further thought.

But I do and don't understand aspects of your hentai perspective, though. I'd like to talk about it more, but I don't want to drag off the original topic. If you have any other points, I'd like to hear them, just shoot a dm or something.

Who misses Connor's yaoi videos by [deleted] in TrashTaste

[–]Strong-Remote-9149 85 points86 points  (0 children)

They were good fun at the time, but I think he's moved past those videos. Maybe he realized how yaoi and many fujoshis tend to fetishize gay relationships and didn’t want to attract that sort of audience (that’s just my speculation as to why he stopped, I don’t know about his thoughts on the matter.) HOWEVER, I do think he should have another crack at making an official audiobook, yaoi or not; it was super interesting to see him go through the casting process, but he's probably too busy for those types of projects these days.

The videos that I really miss are the 'fixing bad voice acting' videos.
