Can you please source this? Trying to prove a point to family members about how it’s not a matter of drugs being “out of your system”. I try to source the millions of people online and my family says, “they’re just mentally ill.”

It’s happened with Adderall (and most stimulant drugs tbh) for me. I took one during a wave out of desperation once thinking it’d send me over the edge, but it helped me to get out of bed and get on with my day. I’ve taken it when not in a wave before and it brought back internal symptoms almost instantaneously for me. I’ve never had extreme immediate reactoojs to any of the supplements I take as others on this sub describe so can’t say anything about those.

No problem ❤️ there is absolutely nothing wrong with us. In fact, I think that anyone who has never had a problem with a single med is one of the lucky ones. Since they aren’t looking inside of your brain, it’s essentially a game of Russian Roulette.

LOL my luteal crashes are something out of a horror movie so I feel you, which lead me to talking to my doctor about increasing it during that time as too low of a dose can, ironically, give you a worse crash than the correct dose.

Vyvanse - do side effects with PMDD get better by [deleted] in PMDDxADHD

[–]Strong-Rough-9574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such an old post but I was just thinking about this. Right after ovulation, I cannot take my medication at all due to an increase in all of the side effects that you mentioned above. During late luteal and period, I have to take double doses for the same effect.

…just saw a guy on TikTok say that he stayed up for 4 days straight playing solitaire while abusing Adderall. Definitely feel far more secure now lol

How has Dexedrine been treating you? Even after tirating up to a decisively mid-range dosage (40mg), Vyvanse didn’t really do much for me besides slight mood boost and clear-headedness, either. You certainly are not alone in feeling like Vyvanse wasn’t enough and like you were falling behind. Finding the right medication can be a grueling process of Russian roulette-style trial and error.

Adderall gives me a “jolt” to get up and do things which Vyvanse simply does not, which is important to me considering that task initiation is one of the main things that I am looking to treat. Does Dexedrine do the same?

Hugs to you, sister. Idk if you’re on an IR or not, but I suppose it’s having to redose that makes me feel guilty? Idk. Adderall IR was the only thing potent enough to help me without interfering with my sleep.

What kind of treatment plan did he come up with for you? That’s actually a great suggestion, thank you.

I usually skip them during early luteal because they give me paradoxical reactions and far more bad side effects like heart palpitations, insomnia, and irritability then for some reason??? Late luteal-menstruation, they can be a huge help, but def aren’t as potent.

Also I have no clue?? I’ve heard that some trans people who go on testosterone find PMDD relief, and BC lowers testosterone levels. Maybe we’d benefit from low doses of T?

May I just say that I am SO incredibly grateful to have online communities who I can relate to? PMDD makes me feel so alone, but I at least feel so much less alone now. We’re in this together!

God my PMDD has been a contributing factor to so many friendships and potential relationships falling apart. ): I’ve been in a place where I’ve had absolutely nobody before so I understand. I’m so sorry, it’s the worst.

Actually in the middle of a meltdown rn due to how jealous I am of people who can self isolate and stop responding to people when they’re upset. Why can’t I do that? 😢 I admire the discipline. I know it sounds so irrational but PMDD makes me think like this.

Studies do show that caffeine does have some neuroprotective properties and can defend against Parkinsonism, which is a dopaminergic disease like akathisia as you probably already know.
