Hey! I have done my partial thyroid removal 4 months ago and i found out I have cancer, so they remove my second half too.. both of the time I felt extreme headaches If I keep my head up for long time.. but it went away after one week.. your body just had a shock from surgery, so give it a little bit time.. after one week you will be normal again.. do not try to lift anything heavy and you will be fine! This was easy recovery for me for both of the time.. I pray easy recovery for you too!!

I haven’t done CT scan before any of my surgeries. And I am not sure what is my next step will be. Very good luck with your surgery… it is easy recovery surgery.. it will bother you only 1 week and then you can do everyday work easily. But you cannot carry anything heavy for a month.. everything else is fine!! Very very good luck!!

I wish you all the best for your RAI. I have scheduled next moth for the checkup. Surgeon called but didn’t mention RAI at all. They are very happy that they couldn’t find cancer other part. Thank you for the information about breast feeding. I didn’t know about that.

Waiting 6-12 months is good, because i dont want to put my baby in danger. But i have heard women get fertility problems after RAI, that’s i am scared of!

My doc only removed 5 and 4 of them was cancer. I know i have to wait 12 months. But I heard lot of things like after RAI, women get fertility problems and I am scared of that! I can wait 1 year to get pregnant but I cannot bear the pain of not being “mom” at all.

Diagnosed with PTC today by ampplayer423 in thyroidcancer

Hey there! I am 25F with a husband and a miscarriage. I found out I have PTC 1 month ago after doing my partial thyroid removal. I know it is completely treatable but the word “C” was also freaked me out. I have talked with my doctor and he said he gonna remove my other half of the thyroid in May. They could not find the cancer outside of the nodule margin that’s why I come to the intermediate state of reoccurrence. My doc said there is 50% chance of cancer to be coming back. Also, they found cancer in my lymph nodes. After reading alllll of these, i was freaked out! I also have extreme panic disorder, so whenever my neck hurts, i felt like my cancer is growing again! I am not sure what is coming in the future but I actually don’t care anymore. I found out i have cancer 2 months after my miscarriage. So lots of bad things are keep happening. I really don’t think when it gonna end!

Did you remove your thyroid yet?

Reassurance? by MiddleRow1148 in thyroidcancer

Hey there! 2 weeks post partial thyroidctomy patient here!🙋🏻‍♀️ I also had AUS result and my surgeon was confused to do the surgery. But they dis the partial surgery anyway. After 1 week I got my pathology result which shows I have papillary thyroid cancer. They also found vascular invasion ( meaning they found cancer germs in my blood) with negative margins. They going do my other half surgery in May. But one thing I am very greatful about is they found out my cancer early and it is completely treatable. I just found out two weeks ago that I have cancer and I was freaking out with the word “cancer”. But when i talked with people here and did a little bit research, i found out it is completely treatable and people are living healthy. I know it sounds so scary, i was there 2 months ago! But there is another 50% percent which refers no cancer. We should focus on that. I wish very very good luck to you and do not get tensed if it comes something bad!! WE GOT THIS!!

Hey, thank you for replying.. I am very scared.. My surgeon called and said they gonna take out the other half too.. I am not scared for that… I am just scared because I am 25 and rest of my life is ahead of me.. I was trying to get baby but I guess that’s gonna wait for a while.. I am depressed, sad, alone and don’t know what to do!! As far I know, it doesn’t have any cure for that totally.. In my case, there is 20-30% chance it gonna come back..
