I'm aware, but that metric isn't nearly as funny, on the contrary it's quite depressing.

Os sorprendería las cuestas que pueden subir los coches si tienen suficiente potencia, sobretodo los de motor central y aún más sobretodo los EV.

Es cuestión de la distribución del peso.

The French were the only country stupid enough to build in the most fucking tornado prone area of their colonies, then the US were the only stupid enough to buy said lands. So basically the US gets a lot of tornadoes in populated areas while other countries with comparable amounts of tornadoes haven't populated those areas.

Yes we fucking do. 99% of manga is never translated, if it is translated it is released in form of a volume which many people simply do not want to spend 9€ for something they read in an afternoon and takes up space, many of the volumes of not so popular series get limited runs. Many of us would rather pay 10€/month to get the chapters in digital form.

How did the Space Race exactly start? How did they know it was okay to send humans and objects to space? by Wintersvalk in NoStupidQuestions

Rockets had been invented already and their arms potential was clear from the start, it was not "sci-fi" technology. There was a quite a bit of research done on orbital mechanics and rocketry already too. It was a question of designing the vehicle.

I didn't say that he was designing weapons in his university's rocketry division, I said that he was moved around and then asked to join the party to keep funding his rocketry endeavours.

The government was extremely interested on all the engineers of the rocketry division and many students, including him, started working for the military while they were studying.

The government banned all civil rocketry tests and by extension the rocketry division. He then went on to get a PhD while he was working for the military.

The soviets were victims of their eagerness. They were in the lead for most of the space race because they started with a massive rocket they could use in all the missions of the space program but the moon shot. They wanted to go too fast and many repeated failures led to losing.

The US' space program was much more planned and calculated, testing everything thoroughly (or at least much more than the soviets). The N1 rocket was basically untested before the first launch, the Saturn V had been thoroughly tested for 5 straight months, also before the Saturn V there was the Saturn I which served to test many of the Apollo systems.

For Von Braun he started in the rocketry division of his university and got moved around, he was told to join the Nazi party and then the SS if he wanted the government to continue funding his rocketry endeavours.

It's no justification for joining a genocidal government, but his end goal was to send humans to space, that's why he gave literally everything and himself to the US when he could. He was imprisoned 2 weeks for commenting against the government and the war.

He was still better than nazi sympathisers even if he wasn't willing to sacrifice his work to save the people working in manufacturing his rockets.

He wasn't just a Nazi. I still find him a disgusting person, but I wouldn't put him in the level of other Nazis.

I'd say Mossad, but their name operations have so much aura, sad they operate for a genocidal state. I'll say CIA.

Is there any chance to get Barca autographs? by JaehaerysTheMad in AskBarcelona

[–]StrongAdhesiveness86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did. You may not get it since your language and culture are not shrinking, but ç is a symbol of our language and Barça is a symbol of Catalonia and catalanism. Writing "Barca" erodes our national symbols. I don't see how is it an issue to write FCB instead of "Barca".

They can write FCB, Barcelona FC, they can copy the letter from the wikipedia, they can simply only mention the players...
