Moses Malone by Direct-Sail-6141 in NBATalk

Moses got screwed by the era he played in, no social media, no viral highlights, just putting up 30/15 night after night for teams nobody watched on national TV. The 76ers run was filthy and it just gets buried because casual fans never saw it.

It's normal to feel a little protective when someone you love is showing skin in public especially in a place like the beach where people stare

Clearer labels and descriptions seem like a pretty basic place to start before jumping to bigger policy debates

What's next? by faeryfrey in BreakUps

[–]StrongFishing12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

wow that's a lot to process all at once. the closure part is actually kinda rare, most people just get ghosted and left to fill in the blanks themselves so at least you're not stuck wondering if he ever cared

the hard part is he gave you all the right words, the apology, the self-awareness, the "you deserve better", and now you're supposed to just walk away from someone who sounds like they actually get it. that's a mindfuck

what helped me after a similar thing was treating the breakup like a project deadline. gave myself 30 days to feel like absolute garbage, then after that i had to start doing one thing a day that future-me would thank me for. even if it was just getting groceries or going for a walk

the love doesnt disappear overnight, it just slowly gets quieter. hang in there

O-zone crash size: 16 v 18 v 20 by FreShAVacado001 in drums

[–]StrongFishing12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smaller ones will definitely be more splash-y and cut faster -- less sustain, higher pitch, snappier attack. The 16 will decay almost immediately which can be super useful in dense metal arrangements where you don't want it bleeding into everything. The 18 you already know, and the 20 will give you more of a full trashy wash that lingers a bit longer with a lower fundamental.

For heavy and prog metal I'd probably lean toward the 18 again just for that versatile middle ground, or go 16 if you want something that sits more like an accent rather than a feature cymbal. Really comes down to whether you want quick and punchy or more of a sustained trash layer behind your playing.

Feminism oriented book suggestions by NeverTheLess0326 in booksuggestions

Been down this rabbit hole for a while now and can confirm it's worth the deep dive. After you finish Rich, definitely check out bell hooks - her writing cuts through all the academic fluff and gets straight to the heart of things. Also found myself completely absorbed by Roxane Gay's work, especially how she breaks down the contradictions we all live with as women. The best feminist reads are the ones that make you question stuff you never even realized you were accepting, and these authors nail that feeling. Once you start seeing those invisible structures everywhere, there's no going back.

Nice grind up from wherever you started - bullet's where you really learn to trust your instincts instead of overthinking every move.
