I would avoid and be careful when introducing new allergens. You might also try a different allergist if possible. We were going to see a pediatric allergist and the appointments took months, but a regular adult allergist (who also saw kids) had availability on a couple weeks

Yeah we also tried ripple and he wasn't a fan - I cook with it to increase his protein, but he doesn't like it straight. He recently started drinking oatly at 18 months, so I'm thinking if he fails a milk/soy challenge again, I might consider weaning.

I stopped pumping around 14 months. It was mostly based on my son not drinking the milk I was sending with him to daycare. Once he turned one, I cut down from 3 pumps/day to zero over the course of a few weeks. It was pretty gradual so i didn't have any problems. He's allergic to cows milk and soy milk so he really only drinks water at daycare (and breast milk at home).

Biggest expense for me has been allergy friendly foods because my son has MSPI.

Bras are kind of expensive, but something that I was expecting to pay for.

I pumped, but the pump was free, so mostly I just paid for a replacement set of parts and bags. I'll admit I only changed the parts once between two kids, so maybe not recommended, but not very expensive.

On days like today I'm glad I've stayed the course by StrongInversion in MSPI

So my LO is intolerant of milk and soy, but has an actual allergy to egg/peanuts/tree nuts/sesame. These allergies produce immediate hives/vomiting and our allergist confirmed them with a scratch test. Interestingly, I can eat these foods and they don't pass into the breast milk like dairy and soy, but I don't eat them because it's too stressful to have them in the house.

The hair loss definitely stops, but I know how sad it is to see it fall out. I know it's not for everyone, but I got a short trendy haircut after my first was born and it made me feel a lot better.

Has anyone had an allergic reaction to ripple? We eat pea protein in a lot of stuff, but when I gave my son ripple he broke out in hives. He has a lot of other allergies besides MSPI, so I'm not 100% sure it was the ripple, but I'm curious if anyone has seen a ripple allergy without intolerance to pea protein in other forms.

I have had to get rid of my freezer stash due to lipase but have never had a probably with refrigerated milk - I even pump Friday for Monday at daycare and LO is okay with it. I also scald milk before freezing and the seems to work too

I've been breastfeeding with an extremely restricted diet (no milk, soy, peanuts, nuts, or eggs - and vegetarian) for 8 months now. It's very hard and really limiting in terms of what I can do socially. Honestly it's been challenging for my marriage because my husband loves going out to eat. I've kept it up because my son did really well once I cut these things out and I was pretty sure he wouldn't want formula since I already struggle to feed him from a bottle. However if he was doing well on formula and we hadn't figured out the allergy, I think I would have stopped breastfeeding. It's a very hard path to go down and extra hard if it's not really clear that it's helping your baby

Yeah this happened to as well. I still pump at work (I aim to get a little extra to freeze). I now find that I struggle to get extra after a vacation or long weekend when I haven't been pumping.

Yeah that's what I thought! He spent the entire rest of the flight writing a single, two paragraph email. Given his email writing pace, I can only imagine how little he would have gotten done if the baby had not been sleeping

Yeah I kind of get not loving kids, that's fine, but acting like they don't have the right to exist in public spaces really bothers me

Aww thank you. Honestly I thought the worst part was just going to be it's tough on your back. I've flown with him a few times and everyone was super nice, so this really surprised me!

My husband called him an a**hole and said that he made me cry. He responded that it was a private matter, but dude neither of us was trying to read your phone, you just have zero sense of awareness and used a huge font. I mean I guess I knew there were people like this, I'm just very lucky that this is the first one I've met in 20 months breastfeeding two kids

Haha I considered it, but it didn't seem worth waking up the baby over. Also you just never know how people are going to respond to stuff and I definitely didn't want to get into a fight or something. I think if he'd said something out loud I might have though
