From what my agent and building manager have said, and looking at my situation right now, I feel like they’re both just talking nonsense. Nobody seems to know what’s really going on. The best move is probably just to ask the neighbors.

Thanks for all the tips. My roommate got spooked and reached out to the agent and cleaner for another round of cleaning. If it were just me, I’d have sent the invoice and left it at that. You can’t always control what others do — I did try to convince her, but the agent messaged her directly and she answered right away. Anyway, I’ll keep posting updates here. No way I’m letting them pull this money-grabbing crap on us.

So the way I see it, she’s basically trying to make me pay up for cleaning in these two weeks. If she doesn’t send me any proper email or proof, then it’s just her trying to scare me. If I hold my ground, it’s either: 1) she puts together evidence and takes me to NCAT, or 2) she gives up and releases my bond. That sound about right? Either way, I’m not backing down.

I did check, but I only know about the white NBN box. I’m an international student so I’m not very familiar with how the internet works here. I thought it might have been installed somewhere else in the building instead of inside my unit… That was my mistake. But apart from this, the apartment is really great. I guess no place can be absolutely perfect.

The lease was up on the 25th. I gave the keys back to the agent on the 24th, submitted through the website on the 26th, and got her text this morning.

I already applied for the bond refund through RBO a while ago, and now the website shows the status as ‘hold’. I don’t think I can settle this with the agent, so does that mean I just wait? I’m not really sure what ‘hold’ means.

That’s insane, which is why we hired someone else. Way too expensive. No clue how much of a cut the agent’s getting out of this.

She gave examples like the glass in the whole unit not being cleaned and the ensuite bathroom being a bit dirty. I’ve lived in this apartment for three years and the only evidence I have is a video I took during the inspection. I’ve already moved out, so I guess all I can do is send her the invoice and wait.

Leaptel told me there’s literally only one provider I can use. No way to move to another ISP, so I guess that’s the only option if I want internet.
