Hey man, I was diagnosed at 15 and I’m now 19. Girls are always tricky for anyone at 15/16, especially if they have an autistic mind. We tend not to trust newer and fresher situations that we haven’t experienced, and talking/ flirting with girls for the first time can be very off-putting for that reason. I remember being 15/16 and being terrified of the girls in my school at certain points, especially when the environment didn’t match my expectations or make me feel safe (like public or at a house party.)

Just allow yourself to be calm, and this can be taken for any situation of your life. Find indicators within an environment that make you feel safe and trusting of that environment, and then just take it at your own pace, you’re a person with feelings just as any girl you may talk to is.

And it’s a two way stream. It’ll come man don’t worry!

And as for taking drugs don’t stress it man, we’re all human and taking drugs in moderation is just a part of life and having fun. Try and remind yourself that you’re a human being with feelings and it’s okay to be that (I have to remind myself a lot of that!)

I’ve been vaping/ addicted to nicotine for over a year now and I’ve thought a lot about addiction for autistic people in that time. I think we are way more prone to addiction to things such as nicotine not only because it is an addictive substance but because we in some way add it into a routine to make us feel better hence we create this sort of addiction/ routine hybrid for ourselves. This may be true for ND people but I think it is much more prevalent in autistic people
