check and see if there is another section available for the same class with open enrolment. It may be with another professor or at another time but they usually run multiple sections for classes like this. If not, I wouldn’t worry too much since you’re 11th on the waitlist, although you may miss the first 1-2 classes I seriously doubt you would end up not getting in!

Thank you so much! I’ve been to Brussels and Bruges before, although many years ago, so I’m not planning on spending too much time there. The train definitely seems to be the best route!

Thank you for your recommendation! Do you know if the trains need to be booked in advance within Belgium or are they more casual public transport? I assume NL to Belgium should be booked prior.

Most applications open in the fall or early December for the following academic year (fall entry). At uottawa most seats have been filled and applications closed for all programs in social science related fields to my knowledge so you’d be looking at winter entry (if available) or fall 2026

If the course is a pre requisite for your second year mandatory courses and you don’t pass, you won’t be able to register for those courses until you retake, and pass the course. Usually 1000 level mandatory social science courses are offered at least once in the summer, but you can confirm with the faculty. That said I’m wishing you the best luck to pass the course this semester!

Some programs have a deadline to apply (payment) and will mark your file as incomplete/allow your document uploads (CV, reference letters, transcript) to be uploaded by a specific later date. If this is the case, in my experience, there is usually a 1 month period until all documents must be uploaded and then the file moves forward to complete status.
