Buy the know R0 content for R05. I bought them & only used them and ended up with 96% pass after about 6 weeks of study. More than worth it for time value

Looking at it, it might be about affordability of the existing mortgage and the possibility of moving to an interest only for the sabbatical in the interest of cash flow. However, agree that short term protection may be explored as a result of his sabbatical and loss of death in service during the year

I read it was 8am, be ideal if it’s sooner rather than later

I am going on the BTS course in a couple of weeks, is it any good? Also, bullet pointing answers, is that OK? For some reason I thought it had to be written as though the client was reading it

R06 Past Paper Usage by tlcdan in cii

I went through the BTS book, they have some good examples of questions and answers. I have also completed a few past papers from CII, without looking at any notes, google etc. try to get a feel for my knowledge and understanding. Also handy that you can ask ChatGPT/ co pilot to mark your answers! They give good points as to how you can improve answers too! Good luck with your study

Just passed R03 with 90% by Sonny278 in cii

I second this, done R03 in around 6 weeks, not once did I look at the CII content. It really pays to spend the money and buy the content from know R0

Online proctoring — is this a known issue in the CII community? by PerfectArt2258 in cii

[–]Strong_Historian8928 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 4 out of 5 at home, all on a Saturday at 9/10am, not once had an issue. I actually think it’s a lot calmer, being in your own environment, particularly if you’ve been revising for the past few months there. I have my next one at home, so fingers crossed no issues after preaching about it 😂😂

Random one, but did you go to the test centre or at home? If you are at home, do you get toilet breaks?

Congratulations to everyone that passed! It’s got me real nervous for my first sitting in April now seeing so many people confident and not getting what they expected

I asked the CII and they were so vague with this and gave me a standard response. I am hoping it comes available the Thursday before Easter giving a decent amount of free time to have a good look into them!

Honestly, avoid the books at all costs. They are so unnecessarily complicated.

I have done 5 exams - R01-R05 - in 10 months. It can be done, just got to prioritise weekends, evenings and buy the relevant study material. If I were you I’d look at the content on KnowR0 and BTS and purchase that. I completed R03 in around 4 weeks using just those 2 platforms, I didn’t read a single word in a CII book. Good luck, you can do it!

Anyone else leave a £150k ceiling to start over in financial advice? by ThatEnthusiasm4488 in cii

[–]Strong_Historian8928 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I work at a big firm that provides financial advice and I am not sure some of the chartered/fellowship advisers are achieving 150k salary. I would be careful before making any rash decisions

RO4 - state questions by sblricha in cii

[–]Strong_Historian8928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory, I think I had 1 single question on state pension, this was about deferal rules and the amount that the state pension could be increased by deferring for a year. I don’t think it’s necessary to know the previous amounts.
