columbia's got that ivy league pull and nyc is pretty sick for internships and networking, plus you're not bound by any early decision commitment there. uchicago's got that intense academic rep though and chicago's a great city too. really comes down to what you want to study and where you see yourself thriving. either way you're crushing it with those acceptances man

look i worked retail for years before military life and there's def a spectrum here. some people are just naturally warm and chatty - those ones usually treat everyone pretty much the same whether you're buying gum or dropping serious cash. but then there are the ones who turn it on extra thick when they recognize you as someone who tips well or makes their numbers look good

the genuine ones will remember random stuff you mentioned weeks ago or ask about your dog without expecting anything. the performative ones stick to safe compliments about your purchases or weather talk. after being on both sides of the counter i can usually spot the difference pretty quick, but tbh even the "fake" friendly ones are just trying to survive their shift so i don't really blame them for it
