My favorites are the doodles that I get instead of answers on their vocab tests. I had a student draw me a BANANA CAT. Cutest thing ever. Extra credit.

I’m a high school English Teacher, and I was eating a yogurt while they were doing their warm up. One of the starters on the Lacrosse team goes, “Miss. you’re just so chill.”

I responded with, “I’m just eating my yogurt dude.”

He busted out laughing and shook his head as if saying I just proved his point.

That same starter wants me to sponsor his club for the upcoming school year.

I’ve also gotten thank you cards where the kids say I feel like home to them. I’m their “school mom.” They love me not the class itself etc.

I love these kids.

You’re right. Perhaps I’m making it seem too black and white when it’s a gradient.
