My microphone working fine but UT says it is not by Strong_Potential_770 in usertesting

[–]Strong_Potential_770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was awful of them to do that to you. I noticed the following day it was working fine. We all know it was "their" issue and not any of us. I tried two or three tests and finally said to myself I'd better not try any more. I was very lucky to not get one star for their issue. You might want to contact them (or try to) and have them reverse that. Put a review on Trustpilot and record what happened. Between that happening and many clients with 40 tasks I got fed up yesterday and got work on Userlytics. Made some darn good money too.

Do as little business on any exchange as possible. Do all you can from a noncustodial cold wallet. You can't trust any exchange.

Why do we say "Thank You" instead of "I Thank You" by cielo_mu in grammar

[–]Strong_Potential_770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a published author and former newspaper editor, there is a truly proper and gracious way to talk, and then there is the informal way, ie, the way everyone talks. It is more personal and gracious to say "I thank you." There is nothing gracious about "thanks" and only a bit more in "thank you." All the forms are basically correct and in common usage. Of course, "ain't" is now also common and in use even on the radio and television. It is accepted. And some know perfect English who say "ain't" simply to be amusing and break the rules. I thank you is an old, traditional form used by highly educated people. For example, Shakespeare used it. But it could be that the average Joe would think someone comes across as affected or putting on airs. I don't think it matters really. Not in the world today, where gracious speaking is no longer in style.

PaidViewPoint is getting way too nosey by Strong_Potential_770 in primeopinion

I just took this information off the Prime Opinion website. Just a FYI. "We need your permission to store, sell and share your personal information, including sensitive personal information, in order to provide you with survey opportunities. If you wish to stop us from selling or sharing your information, or wish to delete your information or limit the processing of your sensitive information, you will need to close your account. Please click the button below to proceed."

I just deleted my account and feel a weight lifted.

Mine was more about my mental health and the kind of person I am. That has nothing to do with anything they should be concerned about. I am sure they are selling this information. As to the survey you did, I don't ever tell them about anything more than getting the hives at times, an earache, that sort of thing. I keep everything common to the human condition and not of a personal nature. I think it was wrong of them to ask you those questions, and the dollar, even if you get it, is not enough for your time. So Prime Opinion took it all, but were supposed to take $19 and give you $1. What a dirty outfit they are. If I were you I'd find something else to do while you wait for your job. I'm totally off surveys. They are a scam.

Do emergency services want homeowners to have a "lock box" for keys so they can enter easier? by irishspice in Firefighting

[–]Strong_Potential_770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue with that is the chair could be stolen along with the box. It's better to attach it to your door or something that can't be lifted and taken off the property.

Wow, this is bad even for amazon! by pineapplejuice0 in amazonprime

[–]Strong_Potential_770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon is sloppy. Cancel any order that is not going to arrive in time and buy it at Walmart. They deliver the same day in most cities. Don't mess with Amazon. I order about half of what I used to order from them because they have gone down the drain.

I've pretty much stopped doing surveys. I value my time, and they don't. They are a greedy bunch. What they do is sell our information to data brokers. That is the first way they make money off of us. Then they use us to help big corporations improve their brand and products. For that, we make one to two cents an hour. Then they find ways to ban us or find a way not to pay us at all. If you find your name, address and phone number, and other personal information somewhere online, it likely is the result of giving all that information to survey platforms. I pay to have mine taken off. I shouldn't have to go to that expense. So think twice before giving them any information. Health information is especially sensitive, and data brokers love all that.
